Abstract: A slab or block for making a floor comprises a plurality of tiles placed side by side and bonded face to face to a plate of plastic material. Heat insulating shavings such as vulcanized elastomer or wood shavings are dispersed in the plastic matrix of the plate. A textile backing such as a woven textile scrim or net is bonded to the second face of the plate.

Abstract: A heat-insulated conduit provided by the invention has a tube, a sheath of heat insulating foamed material disposed around the tube, wires wound around the sheath of foamed material which deform the sheath locally along annular lines, and a tubular film disposed around the sheath in line or point contact with the deformed sheath.

Abstract: A lock for a casement window sash, door or the like has a pneumatically actuated bolt which holds the sash in its closed position. The locking device has a chamber enclosed by a fluid impervious housing supported below the bottom of the sash. A slidable piston is disposed in the chamber with a rod projecting upwardly therefrom and against the sash when it is closed. A spring biases the piston upwardly to dispose the rod against the sash. A squeeze bulb for charging air under pressure into the chamber above the piston to move it in opposition to the spring is provided in an accessible location external of the chamber and is squeezed when it is desired to move the rod from against the sash so the sash can be swung into an open position.

Abstract: A floating breakwater has two closed buoyant cylindrical members spaced laterally from each other and joined together in their spaced positions by longitudinally spaced flexible and inextensible strips such as rubberized fabric. Closed elongated tubular members are mounted on the cylindrical members where they will be above water. The breakwater is anchored to the bottom of the waterway by chains or the like and conventional anchors.

Abstract: A device for protecting the head and respiratory organs is disclosed comprising a casque having a transparent bubble-screen, a headgear made of a flexible cellular material placed inside the casque, an electrically powered ventilating device for forcing in filtered air for respiration, at least one container for holding a filtering block, the said device comprising also a battery, and at least one exhaust valve, and wherein the said headgear comprises slots for housing at least the ventilating device for forcing the filtered air for respiration, and placed in such a manner that the weight of the ventilating device rests directly on the headgear itself.

Abstract: Extrusion device and the continuous manufacture of a handrail of elastomeric material, C-shaped in cross section.The extrusion device is provided with separate and distinct openings for the introduction of the various elements of the handrail, and with means which shape continuously said elements and arrange them continuously in mutual correct position into elastomeric material.

Abstract: A molded cellular polyurethane upholstery article having a flexible inner cellular polyurethane core, a microporous polyurethane skin with predominantly closed cells is provided with a fabric reinforcing material between the skin and core over at least the load bearing portions of the article to improve its resistance to rupture, the fabric being a net having a resistance to perforation as measured by the sphere method, UNI Standard No. 5421-64 of not smaller than 8 kg, and a thickness comprised between 20 and 100 meshes per dm.
