    Abstract: A procedure is described for the preparation of colorless hydrocarbon resins having a higher thermal stability than similar products in the known art. The procedure involves the treatment of polymeric mixtures deriving from the (co)polymerization by means of Friedel-Crafts catalysts of hydrocarbons or mixtures of ethylenically unsaturated hydrocarbons, with an organometallic compound of Magnesium and/or Lithium, the separation of the inorganic residues and the final removal of the volatile organic products.

  • Procedure for the removal of catalytic residues based on AlCl.sub.3 and/or its complex compounds

    Abstract: A selective procedure is described for the removal of catalytic residues based on AlCl.sub.3 or its complex compounds deriving from the (co) polymerization of olefinic and diolefinic cuts, allowing the production of almost colourless hydrocarbon resins. This procedure involves putting the polymerized mass in contact with organometallic compounds, treating the resulting mixture with water or aqueous solutions, either acidic or basic, and separating the organic phase, which at this point is without inorganic residues.

  • Method for removing AlCl.sub.3 -based catalyst residues from polymer mixtures

    Abstract: A method is described for removing catalyst residues comprising AlCl.sub.3 and/or its complexes from polymer products deriving from the (co)polymerization of olefinic cuts, the method comprising bringing the polymerized mass into contact with organometallic compounds, treating the resultant mixture with water or with aqueous acid or basic solutions, and separating the organic phase, which is substantially free of inorganic residues.
