  • Patent number: 11961238
Abstract: A method for segmenting a 3D model image of a patient's dentition obtains a first 3D model image of the patient dentition and obtains a first segmentation of the first 3D model image, wherein the first segmentation provides at least a tooth surface contour and a tooth label for one or more teeth of the first 3D model. A second 3D model image of the patient dentition is obtained. Each segmented tooth surface contour of the first 3D model is registered to corresponding tooth surface contour of the second 3D model. A second segmentation of the second 3D model image is obtained according to the registered tooth surface contour, wherein the second segmentation similarly provides at least tooth surface contour and a tooth labeling for one or more teeth of the second 3D model image. The segmented second 3D model image is displayed, transmitted, or stored.

  • Patent number: 11896452
Abstract: A method for visualizing patient dentition acquires a contour image of patient dentition and segments the contour image to identify one or more segmented teeth. At least one deciduous tooth among the one or more segmented teeth is identified. A virtual model of a target dentition arrangement of the patient dentition is generated, wherein the at least one deciduous tooth is replaced by a replacement permanent tooth.

  • Patent number: 11648094
Abstract: Method for automatically assigning numeric labels to teeth in a dental arch map provides a segmented 3D surface image of patient dentition having identified individual teeth and determined tooth position in the dental arch. A tooth contour for the identified teeth is defined. The tooth type is identified as one of incisor, canine, premolar, or molar. A display of the tooth contour is labeled with an assigned tooth number according to the tooth position, tooth contour, and tooth type. The labeled mapping is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20220296343
Abstract: At least one embodiment of a method for dynamically assisting a practitioner in preparing a dental bone grafting operation, the method comprising:—providing an image representing a 3D volume of a portion of a jaw member where bone grafting is to be carried out;—adding to the image a representation of a 3D virtual object representing dental bone graft material;—estimating a value of a geometric characteristic relating to the bone graft material to be used, as a function of geometric characteristics of the represented 3D virtual object;—enabling a user to modify the representation of the 3D virtual object; and—upon modification of the representation of the 3D virtual object, updating the estimated value of the geometric characteristic, according to the modification of the representation of the 3D virtual object, the estimated value assisting the practitioner in determining the dental bone graft material needed.
