    Abstract: An improved apparatus and method is disclosed for the development of a marine habitat through the growth of mollusks. The improved apparatus and method comprises a plurality of retaining members with each of the plurality of retaining members having a mesh wall extending between a first and a second end. The plurality of retaining members are interconnected and the first and second ends are closed for retaining adult mollusks therein. The plurality of retaining members facilitate the development of a marine habitat concurrently with the growth of the mollusks when the plurality of retaining members are immersed in sea water.
