  • Patent number: 6561169
Abstract: A charge air management system for an automotive engine provides air charge densification and cooling during periods of operation at higher load. Two air ducts are provided, with a first for furnishing uncooled and unboosted air, and with a second duct for furnishing chilled and boosted air, with the second duct being chilled during operation with air flowing through the first duct.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 23, 2001
Date of Patent: May 13, 2003
    Assignee: Ford Motor Company
Inventors: Brent Edward Sealy, Jeff Feit, August Thomas Vaught, Wallace Elmer Beaber
  • Patent number: 6543354
Abstract: A device for quickly and reliably establishing a production-run state in a printing group of a rotary printing machine after the printing cycle has been interrupted. A plurality of freely programmable memory devices having various different printing control programs stored therein may be manually or automatically connected to a control computer that determines which of the preprogrammed control programs are necessary to return the printing machine to a production-run state. The computer then controls the inking unit and, as applicable, the dampening unit in such way that its inking profile for production-run printing is quickly established.

  • Patent number: 4632094
Abstract: An electro-mechanical heart compressor system for use in rendering first aid in cases of heart stoppage provides a constant-stroke-length, motor driven reciprocating plunger extending downwardly through a first or upper mounting plate. A second or lower mounting plate with uprights at the ends provides a support for a patient and adjustably holds above it the upper mounting plate in position with the plunger above a mark designating the proper location for the patient's heart. The reciprocation is provided by an electric motor acting through a crank and slotted yoke adjustably affixed to the shaft of the plunger, which shaft is held in guides.

  • Patent number: 3998498
Abstract: An apparatus for guiding a ram in the machine frame of a punch press or stamping machine or the like comprising four guides at least approximately arranged in the corners of a rectangle, each guide comprising a guide column. Each guide column possesses two guide surfaces arranged in the plane of travel of the workpiece, such as a strip of stock, to be punched. The two guide surfaces are situated opposite to one another with respect to a diagonal direction of the rectangle defined by the guides and cooperate with guide bodies arranged at the ram or the machine frame.
