  • Patent number: 12030224
Abstract: A molding system is provided, which includes at least one mold part and a heating and cooling module. The at least one mold part defines a mold cavity having an opening. The heating and cooling module is inserted into the opening to close the mold cavity. The heating and cooling module includes a die insert defining a mold surface, a layered heater for heating the mold surface, and a cooling unit for cooling the mold surface. The layered heater is disposed between the die insert and the cooling unit and includes functional layers formed directly on a surface of the cooling unit or a surface of the die insert opposite to the mold surface by using layered or layering processes selected from a group consisting of thick film, thin film, thermal spray and sol-gel processes.

  • Publication number: 20070039943
Abstract: A heatable tool for a device processing plastic melt or metal melt includes a tool body having a tool surface intended for contacting a melt, with the tool body including a tool carrier having a receptacle. An electrically conducting ceramic is constructed as insert for placement in the receptacle for heating at least an area of the tool surface and includes cooling channels for passage of a coolant. The electrically conducting ceramic is arranged on at least one electrically conducting surface for feeding electric energy to the electrically conducting ceramic, wherein electric feed lines to the electrically conducting surface and the cooling channels are constructed for detachable connection such that the electrically conducting ceramic is replaceable with another electrically conducting ceramic for providing a cavity of different configuration.

  • Patent number: 4798692
Abstract: A method is suggested which is used for controlling and/or regulating of the injection molding in injection molding machines by measuring the temperature in the injection tool. A thermosensor is fed within a bore in the tool very closely to the molding pocket surface, so that the temperature fluctuations resulting from the injection cycles can be registered by the thermosensor. The measuring results are controlled with respect to maximum permissible deviations, whereby it is advantageous to control the minimum temperature and the temperature difference between the maximum and the minimum temperature. When exceeding predetermined maximum permissible deviations a signal is actuated for controlling a quality control for sorting out of parts and/or a light signal or an acoustic signal and/or the machine is switched off. Moreover, the measuring signals are used for controlling of the tool temperature and the mass temperature.

  • Patent number: 4576775
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the production of a shaped article from a thermoplastic resinous material, comprising the steps of heat plastifying the thermoplastic material; injecting the heat-plastified plastic material into a forming tool having a first shape configuration and at least one parting plane, to form a pre-form of the thermoplastic material; subjecting the thermoplastic material pre-form in the forming tool to a cooling phase; providing at least a partially new second shape configuration to the forming tool containing the pre-form; and during the cooling phase subjecting the pre-form in the forming tool having the second shape configuration to at least one pressure treatment under elevated pressure to produce a shaped article. Also disclosed are several embodiments of apparatus for carrying out the process.
