  • Patent number: 11458605
Abstract: A packing insertion tool for inserting a packing stack into a cylinder of a piston pump includes a packing holder on which the packing stack is mounted. The packing holder includes a body, a handle disposed at a first end of the body, and a plurality of fingers disposed at a second end of the body. The fingers extend axially from the body and the packing stack is mounted on the fingers, between the body and a retaining feature disposed at a distal end of the fingers. The fingers can flex to allow the diameter of the distal end of the fingers to change as the packing stack slides on to and off of the fingers.

  • Publication number: 20220127801
Abstract: A road taping machine is configured to unspool road marking tape from a spool and tamp that tape onto pavement via a tamping roller. Tape is cut using a blade assembly, and aligned with several alignment rollers. A pivot arm permits a subset of the alignment rollers to displace, allowing slack in the tape to be taken in during cutting such that taping can occur continuously, despite cuts. The spool is housed on an axle anchored to a support arm that can be actuated between an elevated position for loading, and a depressed position for taping. A taping section of the machine is laterally displaceable relative to a drive section via a displacement plate, to permit taping of laterally remote locations. The machine can support multiple spools, including spools with tape paths that bypass the blade assembly.

  • Publication number: 20220025882
Abstract: A piston rod (27) for a spray fluid pump includes an interior pumping chamber (40), one or more channels (50) formed on the exterior of the piston rod, and one or more side bores (32) extending through the piston rod and in fluid communication with the interior piston chamber and one or more channels. The one or more channels (50) extend at least partially axially and are open along a length of the channel. The one or more channels are angled offset with respect to the reciprocation axis for imparting a rotational moment on the piston rod to cause rotation of the piston rod during reciprocation of the piston rod. A spray fluid pump comprising such piston rod is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11020761
Abstract: A piston rod includes a piston end that is removably attached to the piston rod body. A sleeve extends around the piston rod body and interfaces with a seal disposed within a pump. A ring extends from the piston end defines at least a portion of a socket formed in the piston end for connecting the piston end and the piston rod body. The ring has a cylindrical ring exterior and the sleeve rests on the cylindrical ring exterior such that the shank, the ring, and the sleeve radially overlap each other.

  • Patent number: 10989306
Abstract: A packing assembly includes a clip configured to hold a packing stack in a desired arrangement on a longitudinal axis. The clip includes upper arms and lower arms through which the packing stack and slide laterally into and out of the clip. The upper arms and lower arms prevent radial movement of the packing stack and can further prevent axial movement of the packing stack relative to the clip. The clip facilitates installation of the packing stack on a piston by shifting the assembled packing stack axially onto the piston and then pulling laterally off of the packing stack while leaving the packing stack on the piston rod.

  • Publication number: 20210039121
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to remote priming of a texture sprayer. The texture sprayer includes a main unit, a hose assembly and a spray gun, the main unit includes an air compressor, a sensor that senses a parameter of air compressed by the air compressor, and a texture material pump that is activated and deactivated in response to the parameter sensed. A spray gun can be remoted coupled to the main unit via the hose assembly. The spray gun includes a nozzle, from which the texture material is forcefully expelled as a spray, a trigger, and a prime valve. Actuation of the trigger causes the spray gun to mix the compressed air with the texture material and to forcefully expel the texture material as a spray from the nozzle, thereby causing flow of the compressed air. Opening the prime valve releases the compressed air thereby causing flow of the compressed air.

  • Patent number: 10814340
Abstract: A texture sprayer comprises an air compressor, a motor, a spray gun, an airflow switch, and a pressure switch. The air compressor is disposed to send the pressurized gas down a pneumatic line, and is driven by the motor. The spray gun receives pressurized gas from the pneumatic line, and expels the gas when actuated. The airflow and pressure switches are both disposed on the pneumatic line. The airflow switch is situated between the spray gun and the air reservoir, and powers the motor when gas flows through the airflow switch. The pressure switch powers the motor whenever pressure within the pneumatic line falls below a threshold value.

  • Patent number: 10594188
Abstract: A motor assembly includes a shaft, an electric motor operatively connected to the shaft to drive the shaft in a first rotational direction, a clutch assembly connected to the shaft, and a fan connected to the clutch assembly and configured to supply the electric motor with cooling air. The clutch assembly drives the fan when the electric motor drives the shaft and allows the fan to freewheel in the first rotational direction when the electric motor is not driving the shaft. A method of operating a fan cooled electric motor includes energizing the electric motor to drive a shaft in a first rotational direction using the electric motor and de-energizing the electric motor so that it no longer drives the shaft, allowing the fan to freewheel in the first rotational direction.
