Abstract: A display device for use on a multi-speed (multi-gear) bicycle, which indicates the currently selected bicycle gear. The device interfaces directly with a gear changing cable. In one embodiment, a toothed rack is attached to a section of cable running along the bicycle frame. A pinion, attached to a cylindrical indicator meshes with the rack. In an embodiment for remote mounting, a slave cable is attached to the gear changing cable to transmit the motion of the gear changing cable to the remote location.

Abstract: A bonding device for an electrical cable having a plurality of conductors enclosed by an inner metal sheath which is enclosed by an outer plastic sheath. The bonding device is a U-shaped metal plate having first and second arms joined by a center section, with the first arm having a central curved section for wrapping around the outer sheath of the cable and the second arm having a central curved section for wrapping around the inner sheath of the cable. The outer end of the first arm may be fastened to the center section to clamp the outer sheath in the bonding device. The outer end of the second arm may be fastened to the center section and to a grounding conductor or other member as desired, to make electrical contact with the inner sheath. Openings with inwardly directed points are provided in the central curved sections of the arms to enhance engagement with the sheaths, and elongate slots are provided in the arms to reduce the force required to effect clamping.

Abstract: A crimp type cable shield bonding device for electrical connection to the shield of a sheathed and shielded cable having an outer insulating sheath and an underlying conducting shield which encloses a bundle of conductors. A U-shaped clip having opposed wings and a fastener for holding the wings together when crimped on the cable sheath and shield. A spring plate positioned between said wings overlying one of the wings and having a section bowed outward toward the other of the wings to provide a spring pressure engagement with the shield when the cable sheath and shield are crimped therein. A terminal on the spring plate positioned within a terminal on the clip for attaching to a ground conductor or the like. An integral tab carried on the clip for holding the clip in the crimped position.
