  • Patent number: 10064329
Abstract: A grass and weed trimmer head is provided having a trimmer head body wherein the outside surface has a dome-like contour with the drive shaft of the trimmer centrally fixed to the top of the dome. The bottom of the body is a circular opening having an inside diameter large enough to accommodate the outside diameter of a rotatable bottom plate so as to allow sufficient clearance to permit free rotation of the bottom plate while providing insufficient clearance for debris to enter the clearance. The rotatable bottom plate is disposed in a manner so as to redirect cutting debris away from the crevasses in the trimmer. The dome-like contour encourages the redirection of the cutting debris outwards and away from the central shaft thereby significantly reducing the propensity of wrapping and clumping around the central shaft. Easy removal of the cutting strings aids disentanglement of cuttings from the trimmer.

  • Patent number: 7396027
Abstract: The self-braking wheelbarrow of the present invention comprises a wheelbarrow bin assembly mounted so as to pivot relative to an undercarriage assembly whereby the bin assembly interferes with the wheels on the undercarriage assembly causing a friction on the tread of the wheel and restricting the rotation of the wheel. In normal usage the undercarriage assembly is secured to the wheelbarrow bin assembly by securing latches. Braking is accomplished by selectively releasing securing latches, thereby permitting the wheelbarrow to pivot, and lifting the handles as if to move the wheelbarrow. The braking force applied to the tread on the wheel is proportional to the bin load thereby resulting in higher braking force with higher bin loads.

  • Patent number: 3974652
Abstract: There is disclosed a device to convert water wave motion into useful energy which includes a shaft mounted to be rotatable and having fixed thereto a plurality of gears, a plurality of floats equal in number to the plurality of gears with each float connected by an arm, through a fulcrum, to a ratchet-like device on the other end of the arm from the float, which ratchet-like device drives one of the gears. The shaft drives a gear train which results in a rapidly rotating shaft which drives a pump which takes suction from a low pressure reservoir and discharges to drive a fluid-driven motor. Between the discharge side of the pump and the fluid-driven motor are a high pressure reservoir for the driving fluid, a regulating valve, and a pressure relief valve which discharges into the low pressure reservoir, whereby the action of waves in a body of water causes a continuous surge of fluid through the motor at a uniform pressure.
