  • Publication number: 20140061111
Abstract: A disposable encapsulated water purification media assembly including a hollow cylindrical core member, a top end cap permanently attached to a top portion of the cylindrical core member, and a bottom end cap permanently attached to a bottom portion of the cylindrical core member, such that the cylindrical core member, top end cap, and bottom end cap form a void capable of directly containing a water purification media.

  • Publication number: 20030230522
Abstract: A cart, preferably welded aluminum, supports both vertically and horizontally for rolling and transport a reverse osmosis and pressure pumping system. In the system preferably (i) two series-flow-connected pre-filters of, nominally, 5 micron sediment and KDF carbon types, that are preferably series-flow-connected with (ii) an optional anti-scaling device, both receive and pre-filter input water. Pressure of the pre-filtered input water is boosted to, nominally 150 p.s.i., in a first pump of nominal 3 g.p.m. flow capacity before being supplied to preferably 3 series-flow-connected RO membrane filters, each typically with a membrane of 2½″×40″ and a flow capacity of 1,300 gallons per day. Water purified to, preferably, less than 10 and nominally 7 ppm Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), is boosted in a second, 2 gpm, pump to, preferably, about 1000 p.s.i., with a nominal 1 gpm waste water going to drain and/or for recycling.

  • Patent number: 6007710
Abstract: The cap to a reverse osmosis (R.O.) system membrane cartridge housing integrates both (i) a system automatic shut-off valve, and (ii) an improved check valve of such enlarged area and low pressure drop as typically gains 2-4 gallons per day in purified water output. The housing both reduces, typically from seven ports to five ports, and simplifies with hand-tightened quick fittings, the plumbing requirements of the R.O system. The housing fits a new and larger, typically 100+ gallon per hour, high-flow-rate R.O. membrane cartridge as well as myriad universal standard cartridges. A pressure gauge is optionally integrated.

  • Patent number: 5595651
Abstract: A cylindrical central high-strength pipe, normally a custom extrusion of PVC, mounts caps, preferrably of high-strength Rhinite.TM. plastic, at both ends so as to create an interior reservoir that is capable of being pressurized to a working pressure of 230 P.S.I. and a burst pressure in excess of 600 P.S.I. Each end cap, permanently affixed to the pipe end by gluing, includes a cylindrical outer sleeve extending beyond the pipe end and presenting in its extension a circular interior groove. A circular plug, again preferably made from Rhinite.TM. plastic, is inserted into the sleeve extension to form a pressure tight seal against a circular gasket, preferably a robust one eight inch (1/8") thickness "O"-ring. A retaining ring, preferably made of Delrin.TM. plastic, that is expandable and contractible in circumference is inserted in the circular interior grove of the sleeve and against the plug, therein to make that the reservoir is capable of being pressurized.
