  • Patent number: 5092828
Abstract: A transfer assembly to progressively transfer to a main vertical magazine located at the top of a machine for forming cardboard boxes, the cardboard box at the top of the pile of cardboard boxes located in an auxiliary magazine to one side of the forming machine. There is associated with the transfer assembly, opposite the top of auxiliary magazine, a solenoid valve through which the upward movement of the cardboard boxes in axiliary magazine is stopped in the time interval between the start of the withdrawal of the cardboard box from the auxiliary magazine and its positioning on rollers. At the top of the main magazine there is an upper photocell suitable for stopping the movement of the transfer assembly when the main magazine is full and a lower photocell suitable for putting the same assembly back in motion when the number of cardboard boxes contained in main magazine is lower than a certain threshold.

  • Patent number: 5025608
Abstract: A taping machine comprising an operating and advancement plane for boxes to be side-sealed. The apparatus includes conveyors engaging the top and bottom of the boxes to cause advancement. The upper conveyor is displaceable vertically, while the taping units are displaceable vertically and horizontally. The transmission of motion is operationally but removably placed between the conveyor and taping unit adjustment devices. This motion is such that every vertical displacement of the conveyor implies a similar halved displacement of the taping units. The result is ease of adjustment for boxes of differing sizes.

  • Patent number: 4855006
Abstract: A taping unit, included in a taping machine for sealing cardboard boxes, equipped with a control system of the tape supplied to a box to be sealed. The control system is of the pneumatic type and includes a timer piloted by a sensitive member which works together with a cam-shaped element rotated by the tape and formed so as to cause the commutation of the sensitive member at least once for each rotation of the cam-shaped element. The timer is adjusted so as to generate a warning signal on each occasion on time interval goes by that is longer than a predetermined limit between one commutation of the sensitive member and the next. The warning signal can be used to cause stoppage of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4738075
Abstract: An inlet applying roller and an outlet applying roller are elastically urged to project, at rest, from a casing which may be fixed to a sealing machine. The inlet applying roller is rotatably supported by support arms, which are movable along path defined by shaped windows engaged with a fixed pivot, and the outlet applying roller is rotatably supported by lever arms rotatable about a fixed fulcrum. Said support arms for the inlet and outlet rollers are kinematically connected to the support lever arms of the outlet roller so that the withdrawal movementof the inlet roller is accompanied by a simultaneous withdrawal movement of the outlet roller and the successive coming-out movement of the inlet roller is made dependent on a simultaneous coming-out movement of the outlet roller. A cutting blade is arranged between said rollers to cut the tape between subsequent cartons.

  • Patent number: 4735302
Abstract: In a machine for handling objects conveyed through the machine, there is a spacing device for the objects which includes at least one lever pivoted on a spreading section of an entrainment unit. The lever is elastically stressed in a position such that a first portion thereof is normally moved toward the interior of the machine and inserted in the path of travel of the objects while a second portion thereof bearing a passive stopping device and located upstream from the first is normally moved toward the exterior of the machine and outside the path of travel of the objects. When a first object meets the first portion of the lever moving it outwardly, the second portion of the lever is moved inwardly in such a manner that the stopping device can prevent advance of a second object until the first object reaches a desired distance.

  • Patent number: 4722165
Abstract: A detecting member for the height of the box with open side flaps is mounted in a vertically variable position on the closing assembly for the top flaps and is connected mechanically to the drive device which draws together the box conveyance units. In this manner drawing together of the conveyance units until they engage the sides of the box causes a corresponding movement of the detecting member which arranges itself in a position dependent upon the width of the box. Fall of the closing assembly starts simultaneously from a raised neutral position and continues until engagement of the detecting member so arranged with the top of an open side flap of the box. Braking means then stop the fall of the closing assembly. Appropriate sensitive means start operation of the closing assembly for the rear flap on the basis of the box length.
