Abstract: This invention relates to an automatic machine for lifting, transferring and unloading clothes-hangers between two adjacent overhead conveyor lines, operating in both directions and fitted with a device for opening out the clothes on one of the conveyor lines so as to facilitate unloading the incoming clothing items between the lines. The machine according to the invention consists of a trolley sliding on horizontal runners. A clip may be fitted to the trolley for grasping the hanger hook. This clip translates vertically - for unloading and loading - or rotates up to 180.degree. around a vertical axis up - for tipping over the hanger hook before it is unloaded.
