  • Patent number: 10815571
Abstract: Provided is a culinary item, one surface of which is provided with a coating including at least one rare-earth oxide layer. Such a coating has the specific feature of not only having mechanical hardness and abrasion resistance comparable to those of enamels and ceramics, but also excellent intrinsic hydrophobic properties that enable the coating obtained to have a non-stick property that is comparable to that of fluorocarbon coatings and suitable for culinary applications.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 19, 2016
Date of Patent: October 27, 2020
    Assignee: SEB S.A.
Inventors: Jérôme Polesel Maris, Laurent Caillier, Aurélien Dubanchet
  • Patent number: 10543520
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an item, notably a culinary item, includes: providing a support in the form of a preform; preparing a sol-gel composition; hydrolyzing the sol-gel precursor, followed by a condensation reaction; applying onto at least one support surface of the preform at least one layer of the sol-gel composition to form a sol-gel coating layer; and thermally treating the sol-gel coating layer to solidify the coating layer. Further, before thermally treating the sol-gel coating, the method includes pre-densifying the coated preform and stamping the preform to produce a final form of the culinary item.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 19, 2014
Date of Patent: January 28, 2020
    Assignee: SEB S.A.
Inventors: Aurélien Berrux, Aurélien Dubanchet, Martin Rubio
  • Patent number: 10271683
Abstract: Provided is a cooking item, at least one of the surfaces of which has a fluorocarbon coating including rare earth oxide fillers. The use of a composition including a fluorocarbon resin and rare earth oxide fillers makes it possible to obtain coatings, the mechanical properties of which (particularly in terms of hardness and resistance to abrasion) are reinforced without any breakdown in the non-stick properties of said composition. Also provided is a method for manufacturing such a cooking item.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 19, 2016
Date of Patent: April 30, 2019
    Assignee: SEB S.A.
Inventors: Jérôme Polesel Maris, Laurent Caillier, Aurélien Dubanchet
  • Patent number: 10265726
Abstract: Provided is a method for decorating a kitchen item by means of mechanical treatment in order to produce a decoration. The mechanical treatment involves removing and/or displacing part of a thermostable decorative composition by means of pressure and moving a tool or a compressed air jet over the surface of the decorative layer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 21, 2015
Date of Patent: April 23, 2019

  • Patent number: 9199275
Abstract: A cooking item including a vitreous coating with improved impact-resistance properties, and a method for manufacturing such an item. The method for manufacturing includes optionally treating a concave internal side of a substrate having the end shape of the cooking item, the concave internal side being arranged on the side of the food to be introduced in said item, and a convex exterior side to be arranged on the heat source side, so as to obtain a treated internal side adapted to cause a hard base layer to adhere to the substrate, The method further includes preparing an adhering hard base layer on said internal side of the substrate, be it treated beforehand or not, and preparing a non-stick coating on the hard base layer.
