  • Patent number: 8016706
Abstract: A plate-link chain composed of a plurality of plates that form plate sets, which are connected to an adjacent plate set with a hinge joint. At least some of the plates have a stopping means that limits bending of the plate-link chain in a direction opposite to the bend direction the chain undergoes when it passes over and around a pulley or a gear with which the chain comes into contacting engagement when the pulley or gear rotates.

  • Patent number: 7464810
Abstract: A plate-link chain made up of a plurality of parallel plates arranged in rows extending in the running direction of the chain. The plates form chain links that are connected to adjacent chain links at a hinge joint. Elastically deformable damping plates extend parallel to the plates and interconnect adjacent chain links with each other elastically to allow bending movement of the chain as it passes around a wheel. The damping plates serve to damp strand vibrations that develop in the chain strand that extends between pulleys or gears about which the chain passes.

  • Publication number: 20070298921
Abstract: A plate-link chain for a motor vehicle drive system including conical pulleys. The chain includes a number of link plates hingedly connected with each other by rocker members. The rocker members extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the plate-link chain and are situated in openings in the link plates. The rocker members have end faces for frictional contact with conical surfaces of disks of a belt-driven conical-pulley transmission, and the rocker member end faces are configured so that contact between the rocker member end faces and the conical surfaces of the disks takes place in the upper region of the end faces, relative to the height direction of the rocker members.

  • Publication number: 20070197328
Abstract: A toothed plate-link chain including plate sets of toothed plates as well as at least one guide plate. The guide plate which is positioned within a plate set, or as a lateral end plate, and is carried on two chain pins that pass through openings in the guide plate as well as opening in the toothed plates. The guide plate has a wing that in the running direction, or opposite to the running direction, of the toothed plate-link chain extends beyond a plate tooth of a toothed plate in the same plate set.

  • Publication number: 20070142150
Abstract: A link plate and a plate-link chain for a motor vehicle drive system. A large number of link plates are articulatingly connected with each other by rocker members that extend transversely to the longitudinal direction of the plate-link chain. The link plates include teeth that are separated by a recess that allows the teeth to be elastically deflectable relative to each other. At least one tooth of a link plate includes an elongated region a recess positioned between the inner side and the outer side of the tooth so that the amplitude and duration of impact impulses generated when sides of the link plate teeth contact a toothed wheel are changed to improve the chain acoustics during operation of the drive system.

  • Publication number: 20060058143
Abstract: An automatic transmission in the form of a belt-driven conical-pulley transmission having pairs of conical disks at its input and output ends. An endless torque-transmitting member passes between and around the pairs of disks to transmit torque therebetween. The torque-transmitting member is a plate-link chain having links with acoustically optimized hinge joints by providing increased surface roughness on contact surfaces at which connecting pins contact plate link opening surfaces.
