  • Patent number: 5547599
Abstract: A composition of ferrite and epoxy having the form of a film which can be cut, pressed onto word straps, and heat-cured to form an encapsulating keeper on a plated wire memory. The film comprises ferrite powder in a mixture of epoxy resins, typically Epon 1009 and Epon 828, pulverized dicyandiamide and butadiene/acrylonitrile rubber. The mixture is sprayed onto a sheet of halogenated polyolefin and air dried for 8-12 hours at between 160.degree. F. and 180.degree. F. The resulting flexible film is die cut to fit over word straps and further processed by applying 50-75 psi at 325.degree. F. for one hour.

  • Patent number: 4632859
Abstract: A tape backing comprised of a siliconized epoxy resin reinforced with a polyester or polyamide non-woven fabric is described. The reinforcing non-wovens consist of polyester fibers or the more temperature resistant aromatic polyamide fibers. The non-woven reinforced silicone modified epoxy coated tape backing of the present invention has improved thermal, chemical, water, and electrical insulation resistance, and improved lubricity over the prior art backings. Additionally, an important advantage of the silicone modified composition of the present invention is that it is possible to eliminate release coating the backing when used as a tape backing, as the silicone increases the lubricity of the backing; i.e. the adhesion of the adhesive mass is lowered to the extent that no release coating or release liner is required during use.

  • Patent number: 4301053
Abstract: Two-package waterborne polyurethane resin coating compositions which, when applied to a solid substrate produce an adherent, abrasion resistant coating thereon, are disclosed herein. The coating compositions essentially include a small amount of N-methylpyrrolidone to improve adhesion to non-polar thermoplastic substances and are prepared by providing a carboxyl group-containing polyurethane in aqueous dispersion and, optionally, a water dispersible acrylic, as a first part; and using a trifunctional aziridine compound to make the second part of the two package system.
