Publication number: 20240411609Abstract: System, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are disclosed for auto-scaling of a deployment based on resource utilization data for a workload executing on the deployment. A resource availability is determined based on the resource utilization data and a current resource allocation of the deployment. A severity of resource throttling of the workload may be determined based on the resource utilization data, and a scaling factor is determined based at least on the severity of resource throttling. In response to at least the resource availability satisfying a predetermined condition with a predetermined threshold, the deployment is scaled based on the scaling factor.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2023Publication date: December 12, 2024Inventors: Karla Jean SAUR, Joyce Yu CAHOON, Yiwen ZHU, Anna PAVLENKO, Jesus CAMACHO RODRIGUEZ, Brian Paul KROTH, Travis Austin WRIGHT, Michael Edward NELSON, David LIAO, Andrew Sherman CARTER

Publication number: 20240386302Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for improving discernment between qubit states in superconducting quantum computers. Channels are calibrated to train the kernel to contain the correct calibration data (“kernel states”). After calibrating a channel, testing is performed in which quantum operations are performed on qubits at the same time in adjacent channels, including the recently calibrated channel, to determine if the kernel response differs from the expected kernel response, where the expected kernel response is based on the kernel states of the trained kernel of the recently calibrated channel, beyond a threshold value. If such a situation occurs, then the phase of the signal for the recently calibrated channel is shifted and the process of recalibrating the channel (using the phase shifted signal) and testing is repeated until the difference between the kernel response and the expected kernel response is not beyond the threshold value.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2023Publication date: November 21, 2024Inventors: Timothy Lindquist, George Paulik, George Russell Zettles, IV, Jarrett Betke, Daniel Ramirez, Austin Carter, Kevin Daniel Escobar, Kevin O'Connell

Patent number: 12004307Abstract: Embodiments are directed to short and/or near short etch rework. A microfluidic device is positioned on a portion of a circuit having a defect. The microfluidic device is caused to dispense etchant that removes the defect of the circuit, where a flow of the etchant is controlled to access the portion of the circuit having the defect to thereby etch away the defect, the flow of the etchant being obstructed from accessing other portions of the circuit. The microfluidic device is used to extract the etchant from the portion of the circuit such that the etchant avoids contact with the other portions of the circuit. The microfluidic device is removed from the circuit.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2021Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Colin Edward Masterson, John R.
