    Abstract: A method for using a multi-stage in-air hand gesture to adjust volume at a pair of smart glasses and control a user interface of an application. The method includes causing display, at a pair of smart glasses, of a user interface for an application. The method further includes receiving data from a multi-stage in-air hand gesture from sensors of a wrist-wearable device and determining that the user is performing a pinch gesture for a threshold amount of time and a wrist-rotation gesture in a first rotational direction while the pinch gesture is maintained, and based on this determination, increasing a volume for speaker output at the pair of smart glasses. The method further includes determining the user is performing another pinch gesture for less than the threshold amount of time, and in response causing performance of an operation at the user interface for the application while maintaining the increased volume.

    Abstract: An example method includes causing the display of a plurality of text terms in a first mode. A first in-air hand gesture performed by a user is detected while the plurality of text terms are displayed in the first modes. In response to the first in-air hand gesture, a text-modification mode different from the first mode is enabled, that allows the user to identify and modify one or more of the plurality of text terms. A targe term is identified based at least in part on a first user action and, while the text-modification mode is enabled, modifying the target term based at least in part on a second user action. The method further includes that none of the plurality of displayed text terms can be identified or modified in the first mode.

In response to the in-air hand gesture, a text-modification mode is enabled that allows for modifying the text terms input by the user. In one aspect, a method includes, while a gating gesture is maintained, receiving a first indication of performance of an adjustment gesture of a first magnitude directed to a user interface object associated with a plurality of values. The method further includes, in response to receiving the first indication, adjusting the user interface object to have a first state after moving through some of the plurality of values based on the first magnitude. The method also includes, after receiving an indication of a release of the gating gesture, in response to receiving a second indication of performance of the adjustment gesture, forgoing adjusting the user interface object such that the user interface object continues to have the first state.
