  • Publication number: 20220341718
Abstract: Disclosed is a projectile comprising: (1) a metal core, such as a copper alloy core, including a base and a tip, where the base and the tip are separated by a core length along a z-axis running longitudinally through a center of the metal core; and (2) a jacket circumferentially attached to the metal core, the jacket surrounding at least fifty percent of the core length of the metal core, where the jacket includes: a polymer and a first jacket radial thickness along at least a section of an interquartile portion of the core length of greater than 0.03 inches.

  • Patent number: 11371817
Abstract: The invention comprises a projectile, compliant with the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations and/or the United States Code, such as 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(17)(B), which regulates bullet materials and mass fractions. For example, the invention is to a projectile comprising: (1) a metal core, such as a cobalt alloy core, including a base and a tip, where the base and the tip are separated by a core length along a z-axis running longitudinally through a center of the metal core; and (2) a jacket circumferentially attached to the metal core, the jacket surrounding at least fifty percent of the core length of the metal core, where the jacket includes: a polymer and a first jacket radial thickness along at least a section of an interquartile portion of the core length of greater than 0.03 inches.

  • Publication number: 20200284563
Abstract: A type of multipurpose projectile is presented which comprises a metal core fixed within a polymer jacket, both of which are independently producible, and may be bonded together with an adhesive. Said projectile is capable of higher velocity and lower recoil than other like projectiles when properly used in a firearm. In some embodiments, said projectile also excels at penetrating armor, and in others is also desirable for use with hard sporting targets. Preferred embodiments for penetrating armor are also uniquely legal to be manufactured or imported for general use under US federal law. Said projectile may find appreciable use against modern engineered armors, against dangerous or threatening animals, in game hunting, and in sport and competition shooting, and is specifically designed to be produced with cheaper and/or more available tools relative to other jacketed projectiles.
