  • Publication number: 20060018955
Abstract: Healing of wounds is promoted by covering and contacting the wound with a dressing that has been infused with a suspension of a starch hydrolysate containing ascorbic acid and other components, such as collagen and alpha-tocopherol acetate. In suspension, in the infused dressing or carrier the combinations avoid the tendency of the components to separate thereby causing them to remain in suspension and to form a stable gel or dressing. Combining the starch hydrolysate and other components for delivery via the infused dressing allows for a more stable suspension for delivering the components to the wound. The infused dressing also permits the inclusion components that would be otherwise difficult to combine in a suspension.
