  • Publication number: 20250059854
Abstract: A method includes: introducing a breaker composite into a subsurface formation, the breaker composite having a shell encapsulating a core comprising a breaker; breaking or degrading the shell of the breaker composite to release the breaker; and reacting the released breaker with a component of a filter cake, a scale, or a combination thereof thereby removing the filter cake, the scale, or a combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20240384153
Abstract: A lost circulation pill for a drilling or completion operation includes, based on a total weight of the lost circulation pill, about 0.1 to about 2 weight percent of a luffa component comprising at least one of a luffa fiber or luffa sponge; about 10 to about 30 weight percent of at least one of a sized carbonate or a sized degradable synthetic material, in the form of particles, flakes, fibers, or a combination thereof; and about 60 to about 90 weight percent of a brine. A method of controlling lost circulation in a lost circulation zone in a wellbore includes introducing the lost circulation pill in the wellbore as described hereinabove, and forming a plug from the lost circulation pill in the lost circulation zone.

  • Patent number: 11725133
Abstract: A method includes disposing a device into a borehole in proximity to a subterranean formation where a filter cake has been formed adjacent thereto, the device comprising a support structure and a shape-memory article disposed at the support structure, the shape-memory article comprising a shape-memory polymer, wherein the device is disposed when the shape-memory article is in a compacted shape; exposing the shape-memory article to a fluid system to cause the shape-memory article to expand and conform to a surface of the borehole; exposing the filter cake to the fluid system; and removing the filter cake with the fluid system. The fluid system comprises (i) an acid component, a chelating agent, or a combination thereof; (ii) an activator, (iii) a viscosifier, (iv) water or a brine, and (v) optionally a surfactant.
