    Abstract: A chain shackle has a pin thereon for mounting the shackle on a hanger. The pin extends across the ears of the shackle and is permanently connected thereby by flaring a pair of fingers at one end of the pin into enlarged pockets formed in the bore of the ear through which the pin passes.
