Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for acquiring data, particularly, data related to a person's healthcare habits, forwarding the data to a remote location where the data can be processed and allowing one to access the data from various other remote locations over the Internet or other network. The invention includes collecting data from various devices including dumb devices which have no electronics or computing power associated therewith, as well as collecting data from devices that have computing power and electronics. For example, a pillbox can be retrofitted with an electronic circuitry that records the opening and closing of the pillbox.
