A system for providing a three dimensional (3D) user interface including a unit for displaying a 3D scene in a 3D display space, a unit for tracking 3D coordinates of an input object in a 3D input space, a computer for receiving the coordinates of the input object in the 3D input space, and translating the coordinates of the input object in the 3D input space to a user input, and altering the display of the 3D scene based on the user input.
