Abstract: Devices and methods for delivering therapeutic fluid to a patient's body are described. The devices may comprise a dispensing unit having a reservoir, a driving mechanism having a movable member for delivering therapeutic fluid to a patient's body, at least one sensor for sensing a relative position of the movable member and generating a signal, and a processor for controlling the driving mechanism to deliver an amount of therapeutic fluid that compensates for a change in the flow of the therapeutic fluid occurring during fluid delivery. The methods may be implemented by operating the driving mechanism, receiving a signal based on the position of the movable member, determining an amount of therapeutic fluid to deliver, and controlling the driving mechanism to deliver an amount of fluid that compensates for a change in flow occurring during fluid delivery.

Abstract: Disclosed is a portable ambulatory fluid delivery device. The device includes a dispensing unit to dispense therapeutic fluid, the dispensing unit including one or more rechargeable batteries, a housing to retain the one or more rechargeable batteries, a reservoir to contain the therapeutic fluid, a driving mechanism to cause delivery of the therapeutic fluid from the reservoir to a user's body, and at least one electrical connector to be coupled to a recharging unit to direct electrical power received from the recharging unit to recharge the one or more rechargeable batteries. At least a portion of the housing is securable to a skin of the user.

Abstract: Devices and methods for powering a medical device for sustained delivery of fluids or continuous monitoring of body analyte. The devices may comprise a pumping mechanism, a driving mechanism for activating the pumping mechanism to dispense fluid, and a power source coupled to the driving mechanism and having an energy storage cell for providing a pulsed power to the driving mechanism. The methods may be implemented by activating the driving mechanism using pulsed energy in the form of at least one pulse train pattern accumulated in and discharged from an energy storage component.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods, devices, systems and computer program products for communicating between at least one unit of a therapeutic fluid dispensing device and at least another unit of the dispensing device. The method includes performing a determination whether a first frequency can be used to transmit a message related to operations of the dispensing device, and transmitting the message based on the determination.
