  • Patent number: 6153703
Abstract: This invention relates to a semicrystalline polymer composition with reinforced spherulite boundaries and interlamellar strength, comprising a major amount of a first semicrystalline polymer and a minor amount of a second semicrystalline homopolymer or a semicrystalline copolymer and a process of making the same.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 16, 1996
Date of Patent: November 28, 2000
Assignee: Exxon Research and Engineering Company
Inventors: Arnold Lustiger, Avinash C. Gadkari
  • Patent number: 5455307
Abstract: The present invention provides for polymeric stabilizers which are the acid-catalyzed reaction product of a phenolic compound or a ring substituted aromatic compound and an olefin polymer containing either terminal unsaturation and/or pendant unsaturation along the polymer chain. These stabilizers are readily compatiable with olefin polymer and copolymer matrixes and offer good protection of the matrix polymer against one or more of heat, oxygen, ultra violet or radiation degradation. Other advantages include low volatilization as well as low tendency to migrate from the polymer matrix.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 3, 1992
Date of Patent: October 3, 1995
    Assignee: Exxon Chemical Patents Inc.
Inventors: Donna J. Terry, Avinash C. Gadkari
  • Patent number: 5391629
Abstract: A process for the production of block copolymers of ethylene and an .alpha.-olefin such as propylene by using an ionic catalyst system including a metallocene component and a component having a cation capable of donating a proton and a compatible non-coordinating anion. Novel block copolymers are produced.
