  • Publication number: 20210201608
Abstract: A system for deterring undesirable behavior may include a container with a sensor. The container may hold food that is prohibited for a user of the system, but not for non-users of the system. The sensor may be configured to sense information that is unique to the user. A microprocessor may receive a signal from the sensor and determine whether a user or a non-user of the system has engaged with the sensor. If the user activates the sensor, the microprocessor may provide a personalized cue to the user through an output device to deter the user from eating the prohibited food in the container.

  • Publication number: 20050273300
Abstract: A method and system for modeling water flow quantity, quality, and fish biogenetics of a watershed restoration project. The modeling system allows a user to create a graphical representation of the different areas of a development site design. The graphical representation shows the water flows (quantity and quality) between the different areas. The user may also specify the attributes of each area, such as rate of infiltration, runoff coefficient, size, rate of evapotranspiration, and so on. The modeling system can simulate the impact of rainfall on the development design. The simulation determines the inflow (quantity and quality) of water to each area and determines the outflow (quantity and quality) of water for each area. The results of this simulation can be used to evaluate the development design and adjust the design to achieve the desired cost-benefit balance of the watershed protection criteria of choice.

  • Publication number: 20050246102
Abstract: An evaluation system models water usage within a region. The evaluation system provides a graphical representation of various water system components. Each water system component has a model describing its water balance and parameters for customizing the model for an instance of the water system component. The evaluation system receives indications of water system components within the region along with connections between the water system components. The evaluation system receives values for parameters of the water system components. The evaluation system then calculates the water demand of the region by calculating the water balance of each water system component within the region based on the models for each water system component and the connections between the water system components. The evaluation system provides a cost-effective solution to manage water usage within the region.

  • Publication number: 20050103720
Abstract: A method and system for calculating trading ratios between a buyer and a seller of water quality pollutant load credits. The water quality trading system (“WQTS”) inputs a definition of watershed and land uses of the watershed. The WQTS then calculates the load credits (e.g., the difference between total maximum daily load of the pollutant and the actual load needed) of applying various controls (e.g., best management practices and treatments) to the point sources and non-point sources of the watershed. The load credits take into consideration the uncertainty of the calculated loads.
