  • Patent number: 10296515
Abstract: A system and method of engineering configuration data (ECD) collection for an industrial facility having a first control and instrumentation (C&I) system with first ECD using a first file format and a second C&I system with second ECD data using a second file format, and a data collection server. A first data agent has collection information regarding the first C&I system and a second data agent has collection information regarding the second C&I system. The first data agent collects the first ECD and the second data agent collects the second ECD. The first ECD and the second ECD are translated into one common generic data format. The first ECD and the second ECD are stored after being translated.

  • Publication number: 20180067462
Abstract: A method of batch system design for batch processes run by a batch processing system includes providing a piping and instrumentation diagram of the batch system and process write-ups of batch processes as inputs to a batch design tool. The algorithm processes the inputs along with modular batch design concepts and a compliant batch standard to derive batch engineering system designs including a first batch engineering system design compliant with the batch standard including a physical model and procedural model. The batch engineering system designs include function blocks for implementation. The first batch engineering system design is modified based on received customer' feedback by a system specific configuration generation block to generate system specific configurations in a form of master batch recipes, the function blocks and sequential function charts ladder logistics. The system specific configurations are processed to generate a customized batch engineering system design.

  • Patent number: 8341256
Abstract: A multi-generation distributed control system includes a first generation (FG) DCS connected to a local control network (LCN) including FG client nodes. A second generation (SG) DCS connected to a non-LCN data highway includes a server node connected between the LCN and the non-LCN data highway and SG client nodes. The server node includes a LCN processor (LCNP) board. LCNP emulator software including a server LCNP emulator software component is at the server node and a client LCNP emulator software component at the SG client nodes. The server LCNP emulator software component translates between LCN data and data highway protocol data and adds one of a plurality of LCN address slots to communications received from the LCN for delivery to the SG DCS that each correspond to a SG client node. Each client LCNP emulator software component provides one of the LCN address slots at its SG client node.
