  • Patent number: 12095652
Abstract: Techniques are described for suppressing data plane traffic using a service monitoring policy for data plane control. If a service provided to a router becomes nonfunctional, preventing the router from being able to forward traffic to a next-hop device, data plane traffic from client devices on the data plane that requires the use of the nonfunctioning service is suppressed. Additionally, new communication pathways to the router that will use the nonfunctioning service are prevented from being established. Traffic is redirected to another router with a functioning service. Thus, traffic that may normally be directed to the router with the nonfunctioning service and not able to be forwarded (e.g., blackholing of data) can be forwarded to the other router.

  • Patent number: 12093575
Abstract: In order to avoid writing duplicates of blocks of data into a storage platform, any virtual disk within the storage platform may have a de-duplication feature enabled. Or, all virtual disks have this feature enabled. For virtual disks with de-duplication enabled, a unique message digest is calculated for every block of data written to that virtual disk. Upon a write, these message digests are consulted in order to determine if a particular block of data has already been written, if so, it is not written again, and if not, it is written. All de-duplication virtual disks are written to a single system virtual disk within the storage platform. De-duplication occurs over the entire storage platform and over all its virtual disks because all message digests are consulted before a write is performed for any virtual disk. A read for a de-duplication virtual desk reads from the system virtual disk.

  • Patent number: 12093820
Abstract: A system analyzes APIs and automatically generates an API description for the system. The APIs each have an API behavior, which can include a request and a response. Each request and response can have different components. The present system automatically learns characteristics and patterns in the request and response components. As clients engage an API, the component data in the requests and responses for the API are monitored and distributions for various characteristics are determined. Once the API description is automatically generated by the system, the API description can be compared to incoming API requests to identify anomalies that can be associated with users without proper credentials.

  • Patent number: 12093805
Abstract: This disclosure relates to method and system for optimal policy learning and recommendation for distribution task using deep RL model, in applications where when the action space has a probability simplex structure. The method includes training a RL agent by defining a policy network for learning the optimal policy using a policy gradient (PG) method, where the policy network comprising an artificial neural network (ANN) with a set of outputs. A continuous action space having a continuous probability simplex structure is defined. The learning of the optimal policy is updated based on one of stochastic and deterministic PG. For stochastic PG, a Dirichlet distribution based stochastic policy parameterized by output of the ANN with an activation function at an output layer of the ANN is selected. For deterministic PG, a soft-max function is selected as activation function at the output layer of the ANN to maintain the probability simplex structure.

  • Patent number: 12089937
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for testing hearing in infants based on pupil dilation response. It does not require sedation or depend on subjective judgments of human testers. Pupil dilation response to sound is measured by presenting on a display a visually engaging video containing periodic changes; presenting sounds synchronized with the periodic changes of the video; recording images from a camera directed in front of the display, where the camera is sensitive to infrared wavelengths; processing the images to measure pupil sizes; and processing the measured pupil sizes to determine, statistically, the presence of a pupil dilation response to the sounds.

  • Patent number: 12088649
Abstract: Adaptive content masking is provided. Content visibility customizations are applied to a view of shared information by respective participants during screen sharing in a web conferencing meeting using content visibility control settings. Content visibility is adjusted via adaptive learning based on frequency and type of screen sharing previously completed between a content presenter and respective participants of the web conferencing meeting. Content masking is applied adaptively based on monitoring the shared information and correlating the shared information with respective participants by retrieving meeting information prior to the web conferencing meeting and retrieving screen capture attributes from metadata of the web conferencing meeting that are mapped to the shared information being displayed on screens corresponding to respective participants.

  • Publication number: 20240289300
Abstract: A distributed data storage system comprises features for integration with application orchestrators such as Kubernetes, and includes a proprietary Container Storage Interface (CSI) driver. Features include setting snapshot scheduling and retention policies, and a “container data mover” that replicates data from a source to a distinct destination distributed data storage system. The migration may be configured one-to-one, one-to-many, unidirectional, and/or bi-directional. Metadata-based snapshots and metadata-based changed block tracking identify payload data to move from source to destination within application orchestrator frameworks at both ends. Payload data is migrated from source to destination using different techniques than those used for migrating metadata, e.g., kernel-to-kernel for copying payload data versus ordinary metadata writes. An illustrative barrier logic ensures that the migration follows a controlled progression of operations.
