    Abstract: A method and apparatus for tracking target objects includes a network of unidirectional sensors which correspond to nodes on the network. The sensors identify the presence of a target object, determine a first criteria for the relationship of the target object to the sensors and send a message to sensors neighboring the sensor. The message includes a unique identification of the target object and the first criteria. The sensors are ranked to determine which of the sensors should head a cluster of sensors for tracking the target object. Clusters are propagated and fragmented as the target object moves through a field of sensors.

Once the consolidation is performed, the non-subset processing elements that are now idle are powered down to save energy and provide an energy efficient execution environment.

    Abstract: Aspects of the present invention include an N-Node virtual link trunking (VLT) system comprising a set of N nodes collectively provide a logical fabric-level view that is consistent across the set of N nodes. Embodiments of the N-Node VLT system comprise a control plane mechanism to provide Layer 2 multipathing between access network devices (switches or servers) and the core network. The N-Node VLT system provides a loop-free topology with active-active load-sharing of uplinks from access to the core. Accordingly, the N-Node VLT system eliminates the disadvantage of Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) (active-standby links) by allowing link aggregation group (LAG) terminations on multiple separate distribution or core switches and also supporting a loop-free topology. Additional benefits of an N-Node VLT system include, but are not limited to, higher resiliency, improved link utilization, and improved manageability of the network.

Multiple integrated light and microphone systems can be in communication with an audio mixer to optimally detect sounds from multiple audio sources and create a desired audio mix that emphasizes a target audio source and suppresses other audio sources.
