  • Patent number: 5552793
Abstract: A self-calibrating pulse compression system which is able to optimally compress a chirped waveform notwithstanding variations in the chirped spectrum due to changes in transmitter characteristics or other factors. In a most general sense, the inventive pulse compression system includes a first circuit (12, 14) for providing a first waveform, a second circuit (16, 30, 32) for sampling the first waveform at predetermined time intervals to provide a plurality of calibration samples, a third circuit (30) for storing the calibration samples; and fourth circuit (16, 28, 30) for multiplying a second waveform by the stored calibration samples. In a specific implementation, the first circuit of the self-calibrating pulse compression system includes an impatt chirp transmitter (12). The output of the transmitter (12) is fed to an antenna (18) and to a first switch (22) by a circulator (20). The switch (22) is controlled by a timing circuit (16) which may be implemented with software in a host computer.

  • Patent number: 5056842
Abstract: Apparatus for facilitating the collection and disposal of solid pet wastes. It includes a long-handled reciprocable implement having a pair of jaws at the distal end and a pair of handles at the proximal end connected to open and close the jaws. A disposable container having a pair of clamshell-shaped halves adapted to releasably receive mating retaining portions of the jaws is adapted to be manipulated by the jaws so as to open and close while picking up pet waste deposits. When it is ready for disposal, the edges of the container are secured together and manipulation of the jaws releases the container for dropping into a waste repository.

  • Patent number: 3942409
Abstract: A digital launch sequence timing network in a single rail launcher which interprets signals from the aircraft and generates the signals necessary to automatically prepare and launch a missile. In order to launch the missile, a number of signals must be sent from the launcher to the missile in a particular time sequence. The launcher must first send an activate pulse to the missile battery which lasts for a predetermined amount of time, until the missile battery reaches its operational condition. Next, the launcher delivers a pulse to activate the missile rocket motor to provide the propulsion needed by the missile when it leaves the launcher. The preparation steps needed to prepare and launch the missile must take place in an exact time sequence which is provided by the digital timing network, composed of several shift registers. The single rail launcher is used for carrying and launching the maverick missile.
