  • Patent number: 11219353
Abstract: Single use laryngoscope handle for use in an ISO 7376 compatible dual component laryngoscope assembly with an illumination arrangement. The laryngoscope handle includes a plastic hand grip, a plastic end cap, and at least one plastic frangible member for engaging a hand grip and an end cap in a pre-actuated position of an end cap which is broken on application of a relatively minor manual detachment force to the end cap, thereby precluding subsequent use of the laryngoscope handle.

  • Publication number: 20210290040
Abstract: A disposable handle assembly may include a housing including an end wall at a distal end of the housing and first extension walls extending from the end wall, an end cap attached to a second extension wall on a proximal end of the housing, and a power source positioned within the housing between the distal end and the end cap. The disposable handle assembly may include a pin positioned within the housing, a circuit wire positioned within the housing, and a plate attachment positioned on the end wall between the first extension walls. The circuit wire may be in electrical contact with the contact plate and an end of the power source received by the end cap. The pin and the contact plate may be electrically connected outside of the housing and close an electrical circuit of the disposable handle assembly.

  • Publication number: 20210145268
Abstract: A laryngoscope blade is provided for insertion into a patient's airway. The laryngoscope blade includes a spatula having a top surface, a proximal region, a distal region, and a longitudinal centerline extending from the proximal region to the distal region. A connector base is provided at the proximal end of the spatula for coupling the blade to a laryngoscope handle. A light guide has a first end attached to the connector base by a resilient fastener, and a second end capable of illuminating the patient's airway. A housing is provided adjacent the top surface of the spatula and includes space for receiving a portion of the light guide. The second end of the light guide has a longitudinal axis oriented substantially parallel to the longitudinal centerline of the spatula such that light emitted from the second end of the light guide is oriented directly toward a tip of the spatula.
