  • Publication number: 20230372467
Abstract: The present disclosure concerns using transgenic fungus to express recombinant viral antigens. The composition, production, and administration of vaccines comprising those viral antigens also are disclosed. In some embodiments, these viral antigens can be used to formulate a vaccine against Newcastle Disease. These vaccines can be administered, for example, via intramuscular injection.

  • Publication number: 20230190928
Abstract: Vaccine formulations comprising polyglycerol polyricinoleate (PGPR) are disclosed. Certain disclosed exemplary vaccine formulations comprised an aqueous phase comprising inactivated bacteria and/or viruses, and/or bacterial and/or viral antigens. One particular embodiment comprised an inactivated H9N2 PGPR emulsion-based vaccine for day-old chicks. Disclosed PGPR-based vaccine formulations can be administered alone, or in combination with or as a composition including a second standard fast release vaccine. Disclosed vaccines delay antigen release, and therefore delay an immune response in a subject receiving the vaccine, typically by 7-35 days. The present invention also concerns a method for vaccinating a subject, such as poultry or fish, with disclosed vaccine formulations, as well as a method for making PGPR-based vaccine formulations.

  • Publication number: 20220105170
Abstract: Peptides predicted to be immunogenic against African swine fever virus (ASFV) and vaccine compositions that include the peptides are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, these compositions comprise or consist of one or more peptides comprising the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NOs: 2-2273. In other embodiments, the compositions comprise viral vectors or host cells, or combinations thereof, that comprise one or more of the peptides. In other embodiments, the compositions comprise nucleic acid molecules comprising one or more of the peptides. The compositions disclosed can include one or more additional components, such as, but not limited to, a carrier, an adjuvant, an additional therapeutic, or combinations thereof. Containers and kits that comprise the compositions are described. Uses of the compositions can include administration to an animal to induce an immune response in the animal, or to immunize the animal against ASFV.

  • Publication number: 20200297467
Abstract: Disclosed devices for intranasal administration of medicament to a patient can comprise a hand-held unit comprising a gripping portion for being held by an operator, a spray head having a spray apparatus and a nozzle, a control unit coupled to the hand-held unit via at least one connecting tube, and one or more containers for holding medicaments. The at least one connecting tube can be flexible enough to enable easy maneuvering of the hand-held unit and rigid enough to prevent widening of the tube due to inner pressure when medicaments pass from the containers to the hand-held unit.
