Abstract: A topical composition for application to the skin, comprising an NO-donor and a counter-NO agent, which balances the effect of the NO-donor in the skin. The present invention relates to novel topical compositions designed for application to the skin. The composition comprises an NO-donor, which serves as a source of nitric oxide, and a counter-NO agent that acts to balance the effects of the NO-donor on the skin. The combined use of the NO-donor and the counter-NO agent in the composition provides a unique and beneficial therapeutic effect.
