  • Patent number: 5419332
Abstract: Automatic mapping of flow parameters in a ultrasound diagnostic imaging system including the steps of: selecting a region of interest (ROI), transmitting ultrasound signals along at least one line traversing blood vessels in the ROI, applying a train of pulses along each of said at least one line during a heart cycle, generating a spectral density function as a function time, displaying selected blood flow characteristics determined from said spectral density function.

  • Patent number: 4773268
Abstract: A multi-transducer ultrasound probe including a housing having an ultrasound window with a torquer driven pulley system for positioning and oscillating a selected one of the multi-transducers in the window while activating the selected transducer.

  • Patent number: 4131800
Abstract: The normality of a cell labelled with a lipid soluble fluorescent dye and excited with a beam of polarized light can be evaluated by measuring the time dependence of the state of polarization of fluorescence emitted by the cell which is determined by simultaneously measuring the intensities of fluorescence polarized in directions parallel and perpendicular to the direction of polarization of the excitation beam. The state of polarization of a cell changes markedly as a function of excitation time when the cell is abnormal (i.e., malignant), while the state of polarization of a cell remains substantially constant when the cell is normal. Classification of cells in a population by way of the stability of the state of polarization provides guidance in determining the presence of malignancy in the population.

    Inventors: Avraham Bruck, Michael Inbar
  • Patent number: 4085006
Abstract: A cell analyzer which automatically processes and evaluates cell samples for possible indications of malignancy and other abnormalities is disclosed. Cell samples are prepared in a suspension and are tagged with an appropriate radioactive stain or appropriate biochemical. Counting, filtering and drying steps under computer control are followed by the taking of a radioactive count with respect to a normalized number of cells. The results of the radioactive counting determine whether the particular sample is classified as "positive" or "negative".
