  • Publication number: 20170213344
Abstract: A system and method to segment an image captured from an image capture device of a high content imaging system includes an image acquisition module that receives the image captured by the image capture device. A coarse object detection module develops a coarse segmented image, wherein each pixel of the coarse segmented image is associated with a corresponding pixel in the captured image and is identified as one of an object pixel and a background pixel. A marker identification module selects at least one marker pixel from the pixels of the coarse segmented image, wherein each marker pixel is one of a contiguous group of object pixels in the coarse segmented image that is furthest from a background pixel relative to neighboring pixels of the group.

  • Patent number: 8731278
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method of processing a microscopy image are provided. A microscopy image is received, and a configuration for an image section that includes a portion of the microscopy image is determined. Multiple image sections are respectively assigned to multiple processing units, and the processing units respectively process the image sections in parallel. One or more objects are determined to be respectively present in the image sections, and the objects present in the image sections are measured to obtain object data associated with the objects.

  • Publication number: 20040196365
Abstract: The invention provides an automated microscope system, a computer program product which may be programmed into the automated microscope system and a method for acquiring images at substantially the maximum acquisition rate of a camera while and as devices external to the camera, which vary various parameters of the acquired images, operate asynchronously with the camera so as to allow the acquired images to be displayed as a sequence that shows continuous variation in the acquisition parameters.
