  • Patent number: 12540785
Abstract: A system for restricting a firearm to less lethal shooting includes an image sensor, at least one non-transitory memory storing instructions, and at least one processor that executes the instructions to cause the performance of the following steps: processing images to detect potential targets within a scene; locking onto and tracking at least one of the potential targets; defining a safety line relative to the scene; defining one or more aiming regions on the at least one locked-on target below the safety line; and controlling discharge of the firearm, so as to permit discharge of the firearm when a projectile discharged from the firearm will impact the scene or the target at one of the defined aiming regions, and to prevent discharge of the firearm when a projectile discharged from the firearm will impact the scene or target outside one of the aiming regions.

  • Patent number: 12398977
Abstract: A smart aiming device includes an image sensor, a processor, and an adjustable reticle. A method of zeroing the smart aiming device includes: activating a dedicated zeroing mode: shooting at least one bullet on a zeroing target while aiming the firearm on the target using the reticle to determine an expected point of impact of the bullet on the zeroing target: imaging the zeroing target with the image sensor: identifying a location of at least one bullet hole formed by the bullet on the target, and calculating a distance between each bullet hole and the expected point of impact; and adjusting a location of the reticle respective to the bore of the firearm based on the calculated at least one distance, to thereby indicate a zeroed point of impact on the target on which a subsequent bullet shot from the firearm is expected to impact.

  • Publication number: 20250012547
Abstract: A smart aiming device for a firearm includes a processor, a memory, and sensors. The sensors include an inertial measurement unit (IMU) for measuring movement of the firearm; a trigger sensor for monitoring a depression of a trigger of the firearm; and an image sensor configured to capture images of a target region. During operation of the firearm, the sensors collect data and provide said data to the processor and memory for analysis and storage. The device further includes an optical window for viewing a target via at least one of an optical lens and a micro-display. The memory includes a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing therein instructions, that, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to provide feedback to a user regarding one or more techniques of firearm operation, based on analysis of the data collected by the plurality of sensors during operation of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 11713944
Abstract: A weapon-mounted Fire Control System (FCS) for a handheld weapon includes an imaging sensor and a processing system configured to operate in two modes. In a first mode, for handheld operation of the weapon, the processing system tracks a target, determines an aim-region with which the weapon should be aligned for firing in order to strike the target, and generates an output to facilitate accurate firing of the weapon towards the aim region. The output may indicate the aim region on a display, and/or may control a firing control mechanism. In a second mode, when the weapon is on an adjustable weapon support, the processor tracks a target, determines an aim-region, and generates output signals for controlling operation of at least one actuator of the adjustable weapon support in order to align the weapon with the aim region.
