  • Patent number: 7641857
Abstract: A measuring apparatus for determining an analyte in a liquid sample includes the following apparatus components: a test element with a test field for applying the liquid sample, the test element experiencing a detectable modification due to the analyte to be determined, a detector which detects the modification and generates an electrical detector signal as a function of it, an evaluation circuit arranged downstream of the detector, which evaluates the detector signal to form a measurement result, a display device connected to the evaluation circuit for displaying the measurement result, and an electrical power supply for supplying electrical power to the electrical apparatus components. At least some of the electrical apparatus components are formed on the basis of polymer electronics so that the analyte can be determined straightforwardly, conveniently and inexpensively.

  • Patent number: 7466230
Abstract: A device for the storage of at least one of solid, liquid or gaseous objects. The device including at least one compartment that is configured to contain at least one object. The filling or emptying of the compartment triggers an electrically-readable signal. In one embodiment, the compartment may be mechanically modified and an electrically-readable signal is generated based on a corresponding mechanical change to the compartment. An electrical data memory with at least one memory cell is integrated into the device. The memory cell is assigned to the compartment. The memory cell is configured to adopt a value corresponding to the mechanical change to the compartment. The device also includes an analytical circuit for reading the data memory.

  • Publication number: 20070051940
Abstract: Organic memory unit and driver circuit therefor The invention relates to organic memory units and driver circuits therefor. The organic memory units have a layer of bistably switchable material or comprise a circuit in which two OFETs are connected in series and one OFET is connected in parallel with a capacitor on the low potential side thereof such that the capacitor is connected in parallel with the discharge OFET and is charged by the second OFET.

  • Publication number: 20060118780
Abstract: The invention provides, for the first time, the possibility of producing an organic memory unit within a known production process for organic electronic components, because the memory unit is composed of substantially the same organo-resistive materials as are the organic electronic components themselves. Moreover, the invention discloses a circuit component by means of which any desired memory unit, that is to say, a volatile or non-volatile, write-once or rewritable memory unit can be equally well produced in a known production process.

  • Publication number: 20060079327
Abstract: So that, in an electronic device, in particular a games device, the execution of a plurality of different functions, in particular game functions, can be performed in a very simple and inexpensive manner, the device comprises a main module (1) and at least one sub-module (2) connectable thereto, wherein the sub-module (2) includes a circuit (13) which in co-operation with a further circuit (5) in the main module (1) enables the device for executing a function specific for the respective sub-module (2) and wherein the circuit (13) in the at least one sub-module (2) is in the form of an organic circuit. In that case the sub-module (2) can be selected from a plurality of different types of sub-modules each having respectively different circuits for different functions.

  • Patent number: 6942785
Abstract: A system for automated treatment of fluids having interchangeable process modules (39, 40, 41, 42, 43), which are arranged next to each other, and which are respectively provided with a control unit and a fluid unit. The fluid unit is controlled by the control unit in order to carry out a module-specific process function during the treatment of the fluids. The control units are interconnected via a data bus (48), which is common to the process modules (39, 40, 41, 42, 43), and the fluid units are interconnected by a fluid bus (49) that has several channels. A fluid bus section is provided for at least one part of the channels inside each process module (e.g., 42). This section has fluid bus interfaces (52) at the ends thereof. A connection unit (51) is configured to be mounted between the respectively adjacent fluid bus interfaces (52) of two successive process modules (e.g., 41, 42) in at least two different mounting positions.
