Patent number: 7993065Abstract: A printer is disclosed having a media unit which can move relative to a printing unit. Until now, difficulties in aligning the media unit in the printer always resulted in a poor printing quality. To rectify this, the disclosed printer provides that the printing unit is designed so that it can move inside the housing, and elements are provided for aligning the printing unit with the media unit so that the printing unit and the media unit can be aligned with one another when the media unit is pushed in the direction of insertion. A resilient element enables the printing unit to be advantageously tensioned, in a manner that equalizes tolerances, against the support of the media unit in an operating position. This enables an advantageous equalization of work tolerances and positional tolerances, and the position of the print head relative to the medium to be printed.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2004Date of Patent: August 9, 2011Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Thomas Riester, Herbert Kirner, Axel Huegle

Patent number: 7380930Abstract: A connection of two components is disclosed that abut on the faces thereof. With this connection, it is possible to create a stable connection, particularly of flat components, with a high level of precision of the position with regard to one another and with a preferred accessibility in the space around the plane extending from the adjacent adjoining faces of the components. Both components each have a half borehole with encircling collars; a fastening device that extends through the complete borehole and a nut having a conical recess which rests tightly against the collars so that the first component is fastened to the second component in a positive manner. It is further possible to provide a fastening of guiding elements to a middle base support that, in essence, overlaps the support at least occasionally and is effected by the connection.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2004Date of Patent: June 3, 2008Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Axel Huegle, Herbert Kirner, Torsten Wahler

Patent number: 7259776Abstract: A tachograph has a cubic housing and a printing device having a thermal print head, a feed roller driven by a drive mechanism and a carrier movable out of the housing to reload a ribbon which forms a stock of printing material. Locking means lock and unlock the carrier in a closed position in the housing. A latch element is mounted rotatably on the carrier and subjected to an action of a tension spring. A snap-in hook of the latch element is associated with a snap-in member in a fixed position. An actuating arm is formed with the latch element, and a pushbutton is configured to be in operative connection with the actuating arm and mounted displaceably on the carrier. A fixed stop associated with the actuating arm disengages the latch element from the snap-in member when the pushbutton is actuated, and displaces the carrier in a direction of an insertion position when the actuating arm is supported on the stop.Type: GrantFiled: September 23, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Siemens AGInventor: Axel Huegle

Publication number: 20060249363Abstract: The invention relates to a splashproof operating device (1), especially of a tachograph. A faulty seal often results in the entire apparatus breaking down because the fault remains undiscovered. The aim of the invention is to create an operating device (1) that ensures good functional safety and seals well towards the surroundings with the adjacent components. Said aim is achieved by an operating device in which contact areas (17) are elastically braced against each other. A decisive advantage of the inventive operating device consists of the fact that the abutting contact areas (17) of the operating element (9) are braced.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 19, 2004Publication date: November 9, 2006Applicant: SIEMINS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventors: Axel Huegle, Juergen Paucker

Publication number: 20060245809Abstract: A printer is disclosed, especially for a tacograph for a motor vehicle, the printer including a housing, a print unit, a media unit which can be partially removed from the housing and a locking unit retaining the media unit. The print quality of conventional printers is subject to extreme fluctuations. The aim of the invention is to produce a printer which produces a good print image despite rough operating conditions. A locking element is included which can be moved translationally perpendicular to the direction of insertion into a locked position and into an unlocked position. A translationally displaceable locking element offers greater security in relation to shocks than a rotationally mounted locking element.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 2, 2004Publication date: November 2, 2006Applicant: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventors: Heinz-Josef Hautvast, Axel Huegle, Thomas Riester

Publication number: 20060233585Abstract: The invention relates to a printer (1) comprising a media unit (26) which can move relative to a printing unit (4). Until now, difficulties in aligning the media unit (26) in the printer (1) always resulted in a poor printing quality. To rectify this, the invention provides that the printing unit (4) is designed so that it can move inside the housing, and means are provided for aligning the printing unit (4) with the media unit (26) so that the printing unit (4) and the media unit (26) can be aligned with one another when the media unit (26) is pushed in the direction of insertion (11). A resilient element (13) enables the printing unit to be advantageously tensioned, in a manner that equalizes tolerances, against the support (11) of the media unit (26) in an operating position. This enables an advantageous equalization of work tolerances and positional tolerances, and the position of the print head (5) relative to the medium to be printed ensures a printing quality that is always very good.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2004Publication date: October 19, 2006Applicant: SIEMENS AKTIENGESELLSCHAFTInventors: Axel Huegle, Herbert Kirner, Thomas Riester

Publication number: 20060209157Abstract: The invention relates to a connection (32) of two components that abut on the faces thereof. The aim of the invention is to create a connection that permits a stable connection of the aforementioned type, particularly of flat components, with a high level of precision of the position with regard to one another and with a preferred accessibility in the space around the plane extending from the adjacent adjoining faces of the components. To this end, the invention provides that: both components each have a half borehole (81a, 81b, 84a, 84b) with encircling collars (82a, 82b, 83a, 83b); a fastening device extends through the complete borehole (85a, 85b), and; a nut having a conical recess rests tightly against the collars so that the first component is fastened to the second component in a positive manner.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 23, 2004Publication date: September 21, 2006Applicant: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Axel Huegle, Herbert Kirner, Torsten Wahler
