Patent number: 10688455Abstract: An apparatus for mixing a first fluid into a flow path of a second fluid, the apparatus comprising: a chamber enclosing the flow path, the chamber including a second fluid first inlet for receiving its respective fluid. The apparatus also includes a second inlet arranged downstream of the first inlet and receiving the first fluid, as well as an outlet arranged downstream of the second inlet for discharging a mixture of the first fluid and the second fluid. The second inlet flows into the flow path and is formed by a shared fluid injector mounted transverse to the axial direction that one fluid and the two fluid flows through its chamber. The flow path includes two respective throttle bodies, each of which is pivotally arranged inside the chamber and attached to opposed sides of the chamber for controlling the flow area of the flow path.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2017Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: ANDRITZ AKTIEBOLAGInventors: Åsa Magnusson, Axel Lämås, Johanna Brännström, Anders Lindström

Patent number: 7252739Abstract: The method is for distributing cellulose pulp that has a 2-12% consistency. A manifoid housing is in fluid communication with distributor housing. The distributor housing has holes that are distributed along a generatrix of the distribution housing. The cellulose pulp is fed into an inlet of the manifold housing. The feed screw is rotated to convey the cellulose pulp in the transverse direction through the distributor housing. The feed screw sweeps across the holes in the distributor housing to urge the cellulose pulp through the holes. The cellulose pulp is uniformly fed through the holes and then through an inlet to dewatering drums. The cellulose pulp is run between the dewatering drums and a trough to form a pulp web. The pulp web is dewatered in a press nip formed between the dewatering drums. The dewatered pulp web is collected by a feed screw.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2004Date of Patent: August 7, 2007Assignee: GL&V Management Hungary Kft.Inventors: Goran Brottgardh, Axel Lamas, Bo Clarstrom

Publication number: 20050126725Abstract: The invention relates to a distributor device for cellulose pulp of low and medium consistency. The distributor device is used to form a uniform pulp web running from the distributor device in an apparatus treating the cellulose pulp. The distributor device has a distributor housing arranged horizontally and transverse to the pulp web and an inlet for the cellulose pulp at one end of the distributor housing and on the pulp web side. By means of a rotating feed screw pulp is fed from the inlet and along the length of the distributor housing and the web is initially formed via outlets arranged along a generatrix in the jacket surface of the distributor housing. The generatrix has holes defined therein. The feed screw ensures that the holes can be kept free from clogging.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2004Publication date: June 16, 2005Inventors: Goran Brottgardh, Axel Lamas, Bo Clarstrom

Patent number: 6631810Abstract: The arrangement is for washing and dewatering a fiber pulp suspension. The arrangement comprises two hollow, circular-cylindrical screen members that have evacuation chambers arranged inside the screen members for leading off liquid. The screen members rotate counter to each other to form a nip. At least one of the screen members is arranged in a trough that partially encloses the jacket of the screen member and, in the direction of rotation of the screen member, converges towards the jacket of the screen member. A sealing arrangement for a pulp head box distributes the pulp onto the jacket surface of the screen members. By forming a progressively decreasing gap B-A at the pulp head box counter to the rotation of the screen member, a simple self-sealing of the pulp suspension can be obtained which allows fiber residues to be returned to the dewatering zone.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2002Date of Patent: October 14, 2003Assignee: Kvaerner Pulping ABInventors: Axel Lamas, Bo Clarstrom, Stefan Hansson

Patent number: 6521094Abstract: Device for the washing and dewatering a fibrous suspension, which device incorporates two hollow, circular cylindrical filter drums (1), which filter drums incorporate evacuation chambers inside the filter drums for evacuation of fluid. The filter drums rotate in opposite directions to create a pinch (2) where at least one of the said filter drums (1) is installed in a trough (7,8) which partly encloses the outer surface (3) of the filter drum and which, in the direction of rotation of the filter drum, converges towards the outer surface of the filter drum. At least one pulp inflow chamber (4) is installed at the highest point (1) of one or both of the filter drums each equipped with a trough for the introduction of pulp between the outer surfaces (3) of the filter drum and its trough (7,8) for the formation of a fibrous web.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2001Date of Patent: February 18, 2003Assignee: Kvaerner Pulping ABInventors: Axel Lamas, Stefan Hansson, Bo Clarstrom, Jesper Karrhammar, Goran Brottgardh

Publication number: 20020124977Abstract: The distributor device is for cellulose pulp of low and medium consistency and is used to form a uniform pulp web running from the distributor device in an apparatus treating the cellulose pulp. The distributor device has a cylindrical distributor housing arranged horizontally and transverse to the pulp web, and an inlet for the cellulose pulp at one end of the distributor housing and on the pulp web side. Pulp is fed with feed screws from the inlet and along the length of the distributor housing. The web is initially formed via the outlets defined along a generatrix in the jacket surface of the distributor housing. An optimum distribution of low-concentration pulp is obtained with the holes arranged along the generatrix in the jacket surface of the distributor housing. The holes have a defined hole diameter (D) and are arranged at a distance (X) from each other. The interaction with the feed screw makes it possible to keep the holes free from clogging.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2001Publication date: September 12, 2002Applicant: Kvaerner Pulping AB;Inventors: Goran Brottgardh, Axel Lamas, Bo Clarstrom

Patent number: 6402894Abstract: Arrangement 1 for washing and dewatering a fiber pulp suspension, which arrangement comprises two hollow, circular-cylindrical screen members 2a, 2b delimited by envelope surface and end walls. The screen members rotate towards each other to form a nip 10, at least one of the said screen members 2a, 2b being arranged in a vat 6 which partially encloses the envelope of the screen member and which, in the direction of rotation of the screen member, converges towards the envelope of the screen member. The invention relates to a sealing arrangement 8 at the end wall of the screen member. By retracting the seal a distance X from the envelope surface of the screen member in a limited area &agr; near the nip 10, the seal is relieved of the very high hydraulic and mechanical pressures which occur in the nip. Wear between the end wall of the drum and the seal at the press nip is reduced. A simple pressurized seal can thus be used with the same low pressure applied along the entire circumference.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2000Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Assignee: Kvaarner Pulping ABInventors: Axel Lamas, Goran Brottgardh, Johan Eriksson
