  • Patent number: 8023490
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the transmission of data packets in a radio communication system, wherein the transmission of data packets of a data flow having a first priority (Prio) with respect to the transmission of data packets is interrupted by that of a second priority (Prio) if the second priority (Prio) is higher than the first priority (Prio).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 26, 2002
Date of Patent: September 20, 2011
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Christina Gessner, Norbert Kroth, Axel Meiling
  • Patent number: 7746841
Abstract: Data packets of a data flow are identified for transmission in a radio communication system with a data flow and/or individual service indicator enabling them to be allocated to the corresponding data flow for reception. A sequence number for the data packets in each data flow is added upon transmission to the data packet in order to reestablish the original order of the data packets of a data flow; the advantage thereof being that the data flows of several services can use a common HARQ process, whereupon the memory used for reception according to said HARQ process can be reduced.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 19, 2002
Date of Patent: June 29, 2010
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Axel Meiling, Fariba Raji, Jörg Schniedenham
  • Patent number: 7742483
Abstract: A method transmits data packets in a radio-communication system. A criterion is associated with a data packet received by a radio station, and a data packet which is correctly received is transmitted to another device and/or protocol layer when the criterion has been met.

  • Patent number: 7324477
Abstract: A method is provided for use in a radio communications system according to which a channel which can be mutually used by a number of subscriber stations, consists of at least two channels that can be allocated to a number of parallelly existing connections for temporally successive use. The channels are structured according to a sequence known to the subscriber stations. A number of channels or a data rate is assigned to a subscriber station by using a subscriber individual signaling message. In addition, a starting point and/or a direction in the sequence is signaled to the subscriber station order to select the channels.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 29, 2008
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 7053829
Abstract: A method determines the position of a mobile object by using at least one radio signal having a rotating transmission characteristic with at least one reference station. The relation between the orientation of the transmission characteristic and reference events is communicated to the mobile object. The orientation of the transmission characteristic and the relative position with respect to the reference station can be determined from the reference event.

  • Publication number: 20040233887
Abstract: According to the invention, data packets of a data flow (1;2) are identified for transmission in a radiocommunication system with a data flow and/or individual service indicator (ID) enabling them to be allocated to the corresponding data flow (1;2) for reception. A sequence number (SN) for the data packets in each data flow (1;2) is added upon transmission to the data packet in order to reestablish the original order of the data packets of a data flow (1,2); the advantage thereof being that the data flows (1,2) of several services can use a common HARQ process, whereupon the memory used for reception according to said HARQ process can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040157549
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for routing data (d) in a mobile communications network with non-stationary relay stations (MS2), according to which data (d) is transmitted from a first station (MS1) to a target station (MS3) via a route (V12-V23), and, in the case that is not possible to conduct a direct transmission from the first station (MS1) to the target station (MS3), the data is received and relayed by the relay station (MS2) during the transmission on the route. The determination of the route (V12-V23) should preferably be carried out or updated in the first station (MS1) and/or in relay stations (MS2). The determination of the route (V12-V23) can be carried out, in particular, by using cards with routes, population information and/or topographical information. The determination of the route (V12-V23) can also or alternatively be carried out by using search programs for, in particular, statistically and/or iteratively ascertaining an optimized route.
