  • Patent number: 8079580
Abstract: A holding device for a rim of a vehicle wheel having a base plate which has a central recess for being pushed onto the shaft of a balancing machine, having a plurality of rotatably mounted holding elements and having at least one coupling element which is arranged coaxially with respect to the central recess and is mounted rotatably on the base plate, the holding elements and the coupling element having an interacting coupling for the positive coupling of the rotational movement of the holding elements. There is provision, in addition to the coupling which bring about the positive connection, for the holding elements and the coupling element to have a further coupling mechanism for the frictional coupling of the rotational movement of the holding elements, and for at least one fixing device to be provided for fixing the holding elements, if required.

  • Patent number: 7093369
Abstract: Retaining device for a wheel-alignment analyzer for attachment to a wheel of a motor vehicle. Retaining device has a retaining element having at least three retaining arms and a clamping mechanism which can be displaced along the retaining arms. The ends of the clamping mechanism are provided with an overlapping portion for overlapping the edge of the rim and the retaining element can be secured to the edge of the rim. The retaining device offers a stable engagement and centering solution, thus permitting a correct wheel-alignment analysis. The overlapping portion may be spring-loaded and biased in the direction of the wheel and/or the clamping mechanism, and a spacer and the overlapping portion may be provided on the spacer.

  • Publication number: 20060055125
Abstract: Quick-clamping device with a hub centering ring secures a vehicle wheel rim on the shaft of a wheel-balancing machine. Securely attached to the shaft is a flange to facilitate a friction fit placement on the rim. For centering, a conical assembly is provided, including an inner bore to be slid onto the shaft of the balancing machine, as well as an outer centering surface for engaging the centering hole of the rim. Conical assembly includes a cone, from the apex of which a tubular element extends, and which is mounted with its inner wall axially displaceable on the shaft or an extension of it, and a clamping element for tightening the rim against the flange abuts its outer wall. Advantageously, until reaching the centering and clamping position by using the clamping element, quick-clamping device ensures no forces must be overcome. This provides ease of use of the quick-clamping device.

  • Patent number: 5987761
Abstract: An axle measurement holder device to fasten a measuring head to the rim (5) of a vehicle wheel (2), includes a base body (3) for direct or indirect stable contact with a rim (5) of a vehicle wheel (2). Two arms (13, 14) arranged diametrically opposed feature respective hooks (15, 16) at their ends that are directed radially outward to hook into a tread of a tire (17). The ends of the arms (13, 14) directed radially toward the inside are attached by means of a pivot bearing (11, 12) to the end of a one armed lever (13, 14), the end of which is directed away from the base body (3), the other end of which is connected to the base body (3) via an articulation (20, 21) and tension springs (22, 23). The one armed levers (7, 8) can be tensed radially inward by means of clamping devices. The one armed levers (7, 8) are each preloaded radially toward the outside by centering springs (33, 34) which exert the same force and have the same characteristics and which are supported at a central point of the base body (3).
