  • Publication number: 20200252236
Abstract: A fieldbus network is described, which has at least one device as well as a connecting apparatus, wherein the connecting apparatus is designed to transfer data from the fieldbus network into a cloud. Installed in at least one of the devices is a derived class, which is derived from a predetermined head class, wherein head attributes are established by the predetermined head class and additional device specific attributes are established by the derived class, wherein the at least one of the devices is designed based on the derived class to produce a data object for the data transfer to the cloud. The connecting apparatus is designed to receive the data object of the device, to convert at least a part of the data contained in the data object into a format of an interface of the cloud and to write the data into the cloud.

  • Publication number: 20130041485
Abstract: A system for servicing field devices in an automated plant with a superordinated control/service unit, wherein the superordinated control/service unit accesses the field devices via a communication network. The communication network has at the control/servicing level a first bus system with a first transmission protocol and at the field level a second bus system with a second transmission protocol. The conversion of the two transmission protocols occurs in a gateway and provided in the gateway a basic software, which, upon the occurrence of an event, scans to ascertain the field devices arranged at the field level and utilizes the ascertained information concerning the field devices, in order to download the corresponding electronic device descriptions from an application server and to provide these to the control/service unit for servicing the field devices. The application server contains server apps.

  • Patent number: 7583690
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for simplified allocation of station addresses to communication users in a bus system, and communication users in a bus system. A first communication user, which can automatically transmit to the bus, can allocate data to a station address, said data clearly identifying another communication user, or characterizing a station address as non-occupied. An additional communication user who has already sent a data packet with clearly identifying data to the first communication user in an earlier communication cycle by means of said communication user and who receives a data packet comprising data in a later communication cycle, whereby said data does not clearly identify said communication user, can automatically alter the station address thereof in a station address characterized as not being occupied.
