  • Publication number: 20230228557
Abstract: A system and method for providing feedback on a quality of a 3D scan is provided. The system includes a coordinate scanner configured to optically measure and determine a plurality of three-dimensional coordinates to a plurality of locations on at least one surface in the environment, the coordinate scanner being configured to move through the environment while acquiring the plurality of three-dimensional coordinates. A display having a graphical user interface. One or more processors are provided that are configured to determine a quality attribute of a process of measuring the plurality of three-dimensional coordinates based at least in part on the movement of the coordinate scanner in the environment and display a graphical quality indicator on the graphical user interface based at least in part on the quality attribute, the quality indicator is a graphical element having at least one movable element.

  • Patent number: 10935365
Abstract: A 3D sensor system with a mounting arrangement is provided. The system includes a 3D sensor that measures 3D coordinates of a surface, the 3D sensor having a body with a slot disposed in a side, the slot further having a recess centrally disposed thereon. One or more slot nuts are disposed in the slot. A mounting bracket is provided having a pair of keystone members and a dowel pin disposed therebetween, the keystone members being disposed in the slot and the dowel pin being disposed in the recess, the mounting bracket having a plurality of holes aligned with the slot. One or more fasteners are provided that extend through the plurality holes and engage the one or more slot nuts to couple the mounting bracket to the 3D sensor.

  • Publication number: 20180100615
Abstract: A tripod head for mounting a 3D measurement device on a tripod stand, having a base element, which can be connected to the tripod stand, a cover element, which is configured to cooperate with the 3D measurement device, and a control element by means of which activation of the tripod head changes its state, the states including at least one waiting state, in which the tripod head is ready to operate with the 3D measurement device in the direction of a tripod head axis and the 3D measurement device can be detached from the tripod head, and a locked state, in which the 3D measurement device is fixedly connected to the tripod head, and there is an additional state of the tripod head between the waiting state and the locked state, i.e., a secured state, in which the 3D measurement device sits undetachably on the tripod head.

  • Patent number: 9671221
Abstract: A device for scanning and obtaining three-dimensional coordinates is provided. The device may be a hand-held scanner that includes a carrying structure having a front and reverse side, the carrying structure having a first arm, a second arm and a third arm arranged in a T-shape or a Y-shape. A housing is coupled to the reverse side, a handle is positioned opposite the carrying structure, the housing and carrying structure defining an interior space. At least one projector is configured to project at least one pattern on an object, the projector being positioned within the interior space and oriented to project the at least one pattern from the front side. At least two cameras are provided spaced apart from each other, the cameras being configured to record images of the object.
