  • Patent number: 9733167
Abstract: An object, such as a tumor from a breast lumpectomy, is placed into an object positioning device that can hold the object without deforming it. Such a device can include a container with a deformable foam, gel, or other material. The object positioning device is moved into an imaging device. Images of the object within the object positioning device are acquired by the imaging device. The acquired images are stored, processed, or output on a display device. Information about the spatial orientation of the object with respect to a reference object is preserved.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 6, 2013
Date of Patent: August 15, 2017
Assignees: University of Rochester, The Research Foundation for the State University of New York
Inventors: Axel Wismueller, Andrzej Krol, Avice O'Connell
  • Patent number: 9189846
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for display of multi-channel image data, characterized in that multi-channel image data of an object that are provided by multiple channels of an imaging device are received, an image synthesis is performed on the basis of the multi-channel image data, and a synthesized image data set is output on a display device, characterized in that the image synthesis is performed in a way that the single-channel image data are temporally shifted according to a given function and the parameters of the given function are controllable by a user during the output of the synthesized image data set on the display device.

  • Patent number: 7567889
Abstract: A method for data processing, to be run on a data processing device, for the mapping of input data to output data. Data objects are entered as input data and processed by a topology-preserving mapping. The method includes ordering of neurons in the ordering space according to a given pattern, assigning of codebook objects in the outcome space to the neurons processing of codebook objects according to the topology-preserving mapping by use of data objects of the exploration space, and output of the processed codebook objects as output data. At least a part of the entered data objects are used to determine the order of neurons in the ordering space, and/or are used as data objects of the exploration space.
