  • Publication number: 20150269440
Abstract: A movable monitoring device, a method therein and a monitoring system including the movable monitoring device, for configuring at least one preset image capturing position of the movable monitoring device. The method includes arranging the monitoring device in a plurality of image capturing positions, wherein each image capturing position is defined by at least one setting of the monitoring device. For each image capturing position, the method includes capturing an image of at least a part of a scene. Further, the method includes recognizing at least one marker included in a captured image and arranged at a location in the scene. For the captured image including the at least one marker, the method includes storing the image capturing position as the preset image capturing position for the location.

  • Publication number: 20130222683
Abstract: A monitoring camera includes a camera lens, an image sensor, and a housing enclosing the image sensor. The housing encloses a volume of Phase Changing Material (PCM) having the characteristic of not beginning a phase change until its temperature rises above a predetermined phase changing temperature. The phase changing temperature is in the range of 20-80 degrees Celsius, and the PCM is arranged to enclose the camera lens.

  • Publication number: 20130169803
Abstract: A method and mobile unit facilitate installation of a surveillance camera for monitoring an object of interest in a scene. The surveillance camera acquires a zoomed out image of the scene. The zoomed out image is displayed in a display wherein the zoomed out image has a zoomed out center point. An indicator overlaid on the displayed zoomed out image is displayed in the display, wherein the indicator and the zoomed out center point are displaced in relation to each other by a deviation. The indicator indicates the position of a zoomed in center point of a zoomed in image of the scene. The surveillance camera is directed so that the position of the object of interest and the indicator coincide so that the object of interest is included in a zoomed in image of the scene.

  • Publication number: 20130162760
Abstract: A monitoring camera is arranged to monitor a wide angle image view. The camera comprises an event detector arranged to signal that an event has occurred when an alert line/tripwire positioned in the wide angle image view has been crossed. The alert line is defined as a line enclosing a point of the wide angle image view. A method for monitoring an area using the monitoring camera comprises capturing images representing a wide angle view through a wide angle lens, detecting if an object in the images is crossing an alert line defined in the wide angle view as a line enclosing a point in the wide angle view, and in response to a detection of an object crossing the alert line, redirecting the camera from capturing images through the wide angle lens to a position capturing an image view including the area in which the alert line was crossed.

  • Publication number: 20130155230
Abstract: A method for setting up a monitoring camera includes tilting a camera head of the camera to a tilting position in which an optical axis of the camera substantially coincides with a rotational axis that the camera head is turning around when panning, and in which the camera head is able to capture images through a wide angle lens arranged in a fixed position in relation to a base of the camera. The camera head is turned around the optical axis of the camera and captures images until wide angle images captured through the wide angle lens present the desired orientation. A home position value for a pan motor of the camera is stored, wherein the position value represents the position value for the pan motor when the captured wide angle image presents the desired orientation.

  • Publication number: 20130155233
Abstract: A camera and a method is used for monitoring a scene, the camera having a camera lens and an illumination device arranged to create an illumination pattern for illuminating the scene. The illumination device comprises at least one light source and a plurality of light guiding elements mounted in a plurality of mounting positions essentially along the circumference of the camera lens. The light guiding elements direct light emitted from the at least one light source in a respective direction unobscured by the camera lens to create essentially mutually complementary parts of the illumination pattern.
