    Abstract: An oxidative hair dying and conditioning composition and method for base breaking hair with an oxidative hair dye composition provides a hair dying and conditioning composition that consists of a nonionic surfactant having a hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of 12 or less, at least one liquid oil agent, at least one alcohol defined by a carbon chain of at least 14 carbon atoms, at least one anion surfactant, at least one amphoteric surfactant, and at least one solvent. Further, a base breaking method helps remove the hair border line by reducing the contrast between a hair's natural base color and highlights through application of a first agent consisting of an oxidative dye and alkaline agent, and a second agent consisting of an oxidative agent that are applied to the hair in two phases separated by a duration of about ten minutes, and rinsing/drying the hair between applications.
