  • Patent number: 7882523
Abstract: An image retrieval assisting apparatus and method for retrieving a desired image program from a number of image programs, such as broadcast contents in a broadcast-contents-recording/reproducing apparatus or a broadcast receiving set. A classification criterion information storage portion stores classification criterion for classifying broadcast contents into a plurality of categories. A program information acquisition portion acquires program information of the broadcast contents. A program information classification portion classifies the program information into the plurality of categories according to the stored classification criterion. An HDD stores the classified program information, and a display displays categories defined by the stored classification criterion horizontally on a monitor screen in a selectable manner and displays only the program information categorized in a selected category vertically on the monitor screen in a selectable manner.

  • Patent number: 7784078
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing system, information processing apparatus and method, recording medium and program, adapted to exchange picture-recording schedule information between the terminals. A user apparatus 3-2 registers generated picture-recording schedule information to a server 2-1 through a network 1, together with the information representative of a providing destination. The server 2-1, when registering the picture-recording schedule information, makes a notification to a user apparatus 3-1 as a providing destination thereof. The video recording/reproducing apparatus 11 of the user apparatus 3-1 accesses the server 2-1 through the network 1, and designates a picture-recording schedule program desired for scheduling of picture-recording of among the programs registered in the picture-recording schedule information. The server 2-1 sends the schedule information on a designated program to the video recording/reproducing apparatus 11 through the network 1.

  • Publication number: 20050125825
Abstract: A broadcasting system which can automatically record only contents matching needs of a user and effectively save a capacity of storing means. First, with a transmission apparatus, the broadcasting system sends contents data and classification identifying information, which corresponds to and indicates details of a data part considered to have details different from each other forming the contents data as one program. In addition to this, on a recording apparatus side, the broadcasting system detects matching with the received classification identifying information and designated classification identifying information such that only a data part corresponding to classification identifying information, for which matching has been detected in this way, of the received contents data is recorded in storing means. Alternatively, the broadcasting system makes it possible to set required data as key information according to an operation.
