  • Publication number: 20220287069
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink control information (DCI) message from a base station that schedules multiple transport blocks (TBs) to be transmitted to the UE. Accordingly, the UE may determine a bundling configuration for grouping the multiple TBs into separate groups of TBs such that separate acknowledgment (ACK) feedback messages are transmitted by the UE for each group of TBs to indicate whether each of the TBs in each TB group was correctly received and decoded. In some cases, the UE may determine the bundling configuration based on radio resource control signaling from the base station, DCI signaling from the base station, relationships or equations or tables defined for the UE, or a combination thereof. Additionally, the UE may determine resource locations and timelines for transmitting the separate ACK feedback messages.

  • Patent number: 11438115
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described to enable a base station to configure additional reference signals, which may be referred to as configured reference signals, to include in a transmission to a user equipment (UE). The UE may transmit a report to the base station, indicating a UE capability for supporting configured reference signals, and the base station may configure a pattern for the configured reference signals. The base station may transmit an indication of the pattern to the UE, where the indication may include one or more characteristics associated with the configured reference signals. The base station may transmit the configured reference signals to the UE according to the pattern, along with one or more baseline reference signals, within an associated transmission. The UE may use the configured reference signals and the baseline reference signals to receive a transmission from the base station.

  • Publication number: 20220271860
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive broadcast information from a base station indicating a numerology or a reference signal (RS) pattern to be used in broadcast or multicast transmissions (e.g., a physical multicast channel (PMCH)). The UE may identify a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) associated with the broadcast or multicast transmission and may determine a transport block size (TBS) based on the MCS and at least one of the numerology or the RS pattern. For instance, a UE may determine TBS for numerologies associated with a single symbol that spans multiple subframes differently from that of other numerologies. Additionally or alternatively, a UE may determine TBS for sparse RS patterns differently from that of other RS patterns. The UE may then perform communication with the base station via the broadcast or multicast transmissions in accordance with the TBS.

  • Publication number: 20220225384
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured with a mapping between downlink control information (DCI) codepoint values, multicast configurations, and unicast configurations. A DCI may then signal to the UE to apply one of a multicast configuration or a unicast configuration to receive a shared data channel transmission. For example, for a given DCI field of a group-common downlink control channel for multicast data, one or some DCI codepoint values may be associated with values configured for a multicast configuration, while remaining codepoints are associated with values configured for a unicast configuration. In some implementations, the UE may identify which multicast configuration or unicast configuration to apply based on the mapping, a type of data transmission scheduled by the DCI, specified values for the DCI codepoint values, whether the shared data channel transmission is a retransmission, or a combination thereof.

A communication device, such as a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station of a non-terrestrial network, a random access request message associated with a random access procedure using a transport block size (TBS) and a power control specified for the random access request message (e.g., a payload of the random access request message) for the random access procedure. The random access request message including a random access preamble and a random access payload carrying a buffer status report (BSR) or uplink data, or both. The UE may then monitor a response window based at least in part on transmitting the random access request message. • Patent number: 11356299
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, a transmitting device may send transmissions using a first numerology for a first type of user equipment (UE). The transmitting device may partition a stream of modulated data symbol tones into one or more contiguous subsets of modulated data symbol tones that result in a roughly frequency-flat channel for a second type of UE. The transmitting device may then perform precoding on individual subsets of the one or more contiguous subsets of modulated data symbol tones, and may insert a frequency-domain cyclic prefix, cyclic postfix, or guard interval after each precoded subset. Thus, the first type of UE may communicate using the first numerology and the second type of UE may communicate using the first numerology but with the frequency-domain cyclic prefixes to address doppler spread experienced by the second type of UE.

  • Patent number: 11356141
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support techniques for wireless communications using preconfigured uplink resources. Generally, the described techniques provide for enhancement of communication features including frequency hopping, an uplink control channel, coverage enhancement, timing advance, uplink power control, reconfiguration, a downlink control channel, a downlink data channel, retransmissions, or subcarrier spacing for a UE in idle mode. The UE may receive an uplink resource configuration for uplink communications in idle mode, the uplink resource configuration comprising an indicator associated with allocated resources for the uplink communications in idle mode and a set of parameters. The UE may transmit, while in idle mode, a first uplink transmission associated with a transport block on the allocated resources and according to one or more of the parameters, and monitor for a response to the first uplink transmission.
