  • Patent number: 11917600
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which a base station communicates with user equipment via an associated cell having a system bandwidth. The system bandwidth comprises a bandwidth part having a set of contiguous physical resource blocks. The base station initiates a random access procedure with the user equipment; provides first information identifying a set of frequency resources for an uplink channel; and provides second information identifying at least one specific frequency resource, within said set of frequency resources, for said uplink communication. The first information is provided prior to completion of the random access procedure.

  • Publication number: 20230299827
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which an access network node determines a CSI feedback occasion in respect of a terminal device, determines if a PUSCH data transmission can be scheduled earlier than a PUCCH data transmission or if a PDSCH data transmission is to be scheduled; and if a PUSCH data transmission cannot be scheduled earlier than a PUCCH data transmission or a PDSCH data transmission is to be scheduled, transmits a downlink DCI of Downlink DCI format to the terminal device, the downlink DCI being configured to trigger generation by the terminal device of CSI reporting data; wherein the downlink DCI is further configured to schedule either a PUSCH or a PUCCH data transmission to support transmission of the CSI reporting data, depending on PUCCH availability when the CSI feedback occasion is determined.

  • Publication number: 20230246745
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which a user equipment (UE) receives data associated with an Ultra-Reliable and Low-Latency Communications (URLLC) service and data associated with an Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) service. The UE generates a first Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) codebook for URLLC service and a second HARQ codebook for the eMBB service, bundles the first HARQ codebook into a single bit, and appends it to the end of the second HARQ codebook to form a multiplexed HARQ codebook. The UE then transmits the multiplexed HARQ codebook to the access network node.

  • Publication number: 20220060305
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which a base station performing LBT and obtaining access during a shared COT generates a TB having a size corresponding to a full slot, and transmits the TB rate matched either to the symbols of a partial slot or to an aggregation of the symbols of a partial and a full slot.

  • Patent number: 10868610
Abstract: A communications device including a transmitter and a receiver configured to transmit and receive signals representing data to and from an infrastructure equipment of a mobile communications network via a first wireless access interface. The communications device transmits signals via a second wireless access interface to a communications apparatus operating as a relay node, and determines an additional delay caused by the transmission of the signals to the communications apparatus acting as the relay node via the second wireless access interface compared with a time taken which would have been taken to transmit the signals to the infrastructure equipment as if transmitted via the first wireless access interface, and transmits an indication from which the infrastructure equipment can derive the determined additional delay for adjusting the transmission or reception of the synchronized response.

  • Publication number: 20200260470
Abstract: A communication system is disclosed in which a communication device transmits, to a base station and using communication resources that may be used for grant-free uplink communications, uplink data and information from which the communication device can be identified, wherein the information from which the communication device can be identified comprises a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) value that is encoded with identity information identifying the communication device (for example, a C-RNTI of the communication device).

  • Publication number: 20190268063
Abstract: A communications device and method of communicating using a communications device is disclosed for transmitting data to a mobile communications network or receiving data from a mobile communications network. The communications device comprises a transmitter configured to transmit signals representing data to an infrastructure equipment of a mobile communications network via a first wireless access interface, a receiver configured to receive signals from the infrastructure equipment of the mobile communications network via the first wireless access interface, and a controller. The controller controls the transmitter and the receiver to transmit data to the infrastructure equipment in accordance with a synchronous process in which a synchronized response is received from the infrastructure equipment, or to receive data from the infrastructure equipment in accordance with a synchronous process in which a synchronized response is transmitted to the infrastructure equipment.

  • Patent number: 10111200
Abstract: An infrastructure equipment as part of a mobile communications network receives an indication that data is to be transmitted to one of communications devices. In response the infrastructure equipment transmits a first paging message to the communications device to indicate the communications device is to receive the data via a wireless access interface. If a response to the transmitted first paging message is not received within a predetermined time, then if the infrastructure equipment can use a power boosting mode, to transmit the first paging message with a boosted power, or if the infrastructure equipment cannot use a power boosted mode for transmitting, to transmit a second paging message to one or more communications apparatus which can operate as a relay node for the communications device. The second paging message identifies the relay node and the communications device for which the infrastructure equipment is to transmit the data.

  • Patent number: 9954605
Abstract: A method of operating a relay device to receive data from one or more terminal devices and relay the data to a base station in a wireless telecommunications system. The method includes receiving plural blocks of data from one or more terminal devices at different times. Each block of data is received in association with an indication of a time by which the block of data should be transmitted to the base station. The block of data are buffered at the relay node that determines earliest time by which one of the received blocks of data should be transmitted to the base station and transmits the plurality of blocks of data to the base station together in advance of this earliest time. The method reduces signalling overhead associated with transmissions from the relay device to the base station while helping to ensure data is not delayed at the relay node for longer than is acceptable for the data.
