    Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of making a nicotinamide ribofuranoside salt, in particular a crystalline nicotinamide ribofuranoside salt, via salt metathesis comprising subjecting nicotinamide ribofuranoside hydrogen malate or nicotinamide ribofuranoside hydrogen tartrate to salt metathesis to afford the nicotinamide ribofuranoside salt. In an alternative, acylated nicotinamide ribofuranoside hydrogen malate or acylated nicotinamide ribofuranoside hydrogen tartrate is subjected to salt metathesis followed by deacylation to afford the nicotinamide ribofuranoside salt.
